His pics online are great and he has won some awards. They have been really easy to work with and are very quick to respond when I have questions. The downside to using the outside photographer is that it is a $500 fee to let them come to the resort. However, we are saving lots of money by bringing him in to get what we want. VIP looks very over priced. Hope this helps! What day in April are you trying to book?

Hey Ladies :) I cant believe after all of this time waiting that I can now say we are 4 weeks away from our wedding date! 11-4-11 on the beach at 4:00pm. I am so excited I can hardly stand it! I dont know about you guys, but i gotta say that not only am I looking forward to marrying my best friend, but I get a vacation to boot??!!! How smart are we all for booking a destination weddings!

So far Gustavo has been phenominal and I gotta say, he responds pretty quick. While Yamina was absolutely fabulous to start planning with, Gustavo seems to fill her shoes nicely!

I have been to the Playa Mujeres Excellence before on vacation and I remember the lobby. It is my understanding that the cocktail hour takes place at the bar at the landing in the lobby. We are having a mariachi tro and I was wondering if anyone has any feedback as to whether this was loud or not?

We definitely have the DJ for the after party! We are some dancing fools!

Well if anyone thinks of anything that might be cool to know, drop me a line would ya? Thanks girls, you are the best!!

Lauren573 congratulations on the upcoming big day!

The $500 fee worries me. When I asked Ileana about outside photographers (when the whole thing happened with Del Sol) she wrote in an email the cost of the day pass for an outside photographer and that we would have to pay for their meals. I am going to keep that email to show that it what I was quoted to bring in an outside photographer in case they try to charge me the $500.

We are getting married Sunday, April 29 at 5pm. We originally tried for the weekend of the 14th, but at the time she could only do the 15th which is the 2 year anniversary of my being diagnosed with cancer. We decided we didn't want to combine such happiness with such badness!

Well congradulations and may you continue to have only pure happiness in all of your planning and life! I think we are picking a 3 pm date today, sometime in the week of the 14th.... then praying for a slightly cloudy day so the head does not overwhelm the ceremony cheesy.gif Ideally we would have a 5pm start but that is not what is available for us.

I'm learning quickly to just go with the flow.

I think the $500 fee is new. The first email my coordinator received from EPM last week simply included a link to the in-house photographer, but the second email yesterday had an additional note that any outside photographer would include a charge of $500 (which is not a day pass and would not include any meals). Being I'm just getting started this will be my cost, but for those of you who booked your wedding under a different assumption, it would be most fair of EPM to honor your original arrangement. Please let me know how it works out for you.

It seems as if they have had some photographer issues. I've also read on here that EPM will not make contracts. So beware they may not honor something they told you in an earlier message. Make sure you have all the correspondence you have had with them.

Does anyone know how expensive the DJ is?

MsBliss, have you set your date yet?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
