Sorry, I meant to ask you this on my last post. Did you have your hair & makeup done at the spa? Look gorgeous! Was your bouquet flowers part of the package? Could you choose those flowers? They are the colors I want.

Holy cow your dress is amazing and you look like a superstar in it!  When I was looking at photos of dresses my absolute favorite was a gown by Marchesa which was 100,000 UK Pounds and I never was able to find another one which did it any justice until I saw photos of yours!  So jealous!!!  It's too late for me, but I would still like to know who made it.  Your taste is impeccable :)

Thanks!!
I did my own makeup...and with my hair, I curled it with a curling wand myself, and then I had the hair stylist at the spa pin it all up for me and add the flower as a finishing touch. Unfortunately, my hair flower broke off at the stem right after the ceremony because the hair pin clipped away at it.

Yes, my bouquet flowers were apart of the package. I can't remember the exact # of the bouquet that I went with, but I had them add in some coral roses to match the bridesmaids bouquets. If you've received a list of bouquet selections, these were the ones that were pictured inside a basket. Hope that helps! msnwink.gif

WOW.. I haven't been on here in awhile because I have been busy with moving.. but what I have read on here is NOT what I was hoping for! I am a little concerned now because I just put a deposit down on our photographer last week!! (Juan Navarro)

I sent EPM an email hoping to get a contract for our weddding now and double checking that everything is secured and ok with using him. I will be GREATLY disappointed if I can't. I wasn't crazy about the in house photographer and Juan has been so nice and easy to deal with.. his photos are WONDERFUL.

I know that it takes awhile to get a response from them..especially with it being peak wedding season.  I guess I will just wait with my fingers crossed!

Brennas, We've confirmed at this point that it an issue with those 2 studio's. From the conversations we've been having you should be fine to use Juan Navarro. I believe another bride on here is also using him & has double checked it with them. Good luck getting a contract!

Just wanted to update on our drama with EPM, they have decided to alow us to maintain our contract with Del Sol. we were very close to looking into a new location, so it's a huge relief not to be on the phone with each of my guests explaining a resort change! Looking forward to beginning our planning with Ileana at his point & really hoping that this is finally behind us & we can move forward with the experience we were hoping for.

Anyone have any tips on what we should be trying to plan out with Ileana? I have NO idea what I'm doing smile105.gif

Ladies, we just wanted to pass along that Excellence has informed us they will be allowing us to use Del Sol for our wedding.  Unfortunately for those of you who are early in the planning stages, this is a single exception for us right now and not a policy change.  For those of you who have booked Del Sol or La Luna already and are staying at an Excellence resort, keep on them!

The best advice I can give is to not back down.  Be willing to change your resort, make sure they are aware of that risk and be willing to follow through.  Even after we were done, we still considered changing resorts for the frustration and hassle that Excellence had put us through, but because so many of our guests had booked and we are so close to our date, we found ourselves in an apples to oranges comparisons of suites and wedding packages between resorts.  There was too likely a risk our guests and ourselves would be paying more and we did not want to put our families through that, even though they were supportive of any decision we made.  In the end, we did change our stay at Excellence from 10 days to 7, and are spending the final 3 days at Royal Playa del Carmen.  We had no intention of staying at EPM after our last guest had left.

This does show that Excellence will bend on this policy if you fight.  If enough people fight it, they'll do more than bend, it'll eventually break!

And we have to thank Del Sol and Beach Bum Vacations for everything.  They've been incredibly supportive of us and committed to us, not their bottom line or their own best interests as Excellence has been. thatswck.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
