I had emailed yamina about a few quesitons and I just heard back today from the Wedding Manager. She did not answer all of my quesitons or answer where Yamina was (i asked) but she did confirm our cocktail and reception venue which was great (we really had our heart set on the event terrace). Not sure what is going on though....she never mentioned a wedding package.

IliaPSU we are getting married only a few days apart! My wedding is booked for April 17, 2012!

@Matt-

I wasn't meaning to be offensive and certainly wasn't trying to take away a photographer's creativity.  Unfortunately, our budget doesn't allow for outside vendor photography (though I absolutely wish it did!); so we'll be settling for the resort's photographer.  I'm glad I got your take on the subject and won't be showing the photographer "sample" photos.  I guess we'll just leave it to fate!

Ladies-

Any word on the wedding coordinator situation?

hello EPM Brides!!!

Unfortunately Yamina is not longer at the hotel but Norma  is working hard with Ileana to answer all your questions. Dany is the new wedding coordinator and she is really great! we have worked with her at Dreams an Paradisus Riviera (Now Sapphire) and you will love her!!!

Planner 1 Events will keep working as usual at Playa Mujeres, La Amada and Villa Balam Ha as they vendor, so in case you need any help with decor, furniture rental, alternative lighting and flowers, so not hesitate in contact me!

Kindly regards and you will be in very good hands!

I finally received a response from Ileana, letting me know that Yamina is no longer with the resort but that a new wedding coordinator will be assigned to me shortly.  She let me request locations for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception but said she will confirm when the event is a month away.  I still haven't received a planning packet or anything like that.

I did receive a list of centerpieces, but no pricing.  I would like to do something with floating candles and flowers in a vase, but I'm worried about how much the resort would charge and I don't know how I would transport all of the vases to the resort.  Has anyone thought about centerpieces yet?

I also heard from Ileana. I wanted to put a deposit for the DJ & guitarist but they said you pay when you get there & they will schedule them. I did receive the dinner & cocktail hour menus since I had questioned about it. A final headcount is due 1 month prior. If you would like to see let me know.  I have not received a center piece list or packet either but I think its too early since everything is pretty much planned a month before hand.  Its so hard to be laid back when we are trying to just get everything done with now lol but I have no doubt they will do an amazing job!

  @aeluzu - thanks! I guess we will receive this in a few months! I wanted to ask you how the weather was at night? I was debating on getting pashminas for the ladies but was thinking they wont need them if its hot & humid. Do you think they would be a waste?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
