Hey Nicole! I want the event terrace also! I hope you are able to get it.

I was contacting with her when I first booked & she sent me a few documents but I didnt fill anything out. I wrote her back my request I wanted like gazebo, x-lounge cocktail hour & event terrace reception. She said it was fine but I dont hear from her unless I email her with questions. She hasnt really contacted me to get anything started although I may have told her everything she needs to know for now. ?? Gonna email her now with some questions I have been thinking of. Will keep ya posted!

It's 150% totally ok to request that. I don't know about other photographers, but I know when I booked ours (Del Sol), they sent forms requesting any specifics that we wanted as far as pictures of certain people with us, etc. Don't feel bad in the least bit to request something about your photos. In the end you want to be moved every time you look at them so don't be shy about asking at all. In fact, you could request directly from them if they have something they could email you that you could fill out with special requests! Good luck!

Hi ladies,

I've just returned from 10 days at EPM. The wedding was fabulous, a dream come true. To be honest, I'm kind of sad that it's all over now! I do have some news - Yamina is no longer working at EPM. I was a little bit nervous because I had been in contact with her for probably over 1 year and when I got there... she wasn't there anymore. WOW. But not to worry, Norma and Ileana worked together and they said that Yamina left everything in order. Out of all of the details that I had discussed with Yamina, there was only one small detail that they didn't already know about. One of my guests needed a special menu. It was not problem, whatsoever, though. I found out that Norma is actually the wedding coordinator from the sister property, La Amada (which is literally right next door if any of you are looking for a place for guests with children to stay) so I'm not sure if she is just temporarily filling in at EPM or if she will be a permanent replacement. Regardless of who your wedding coordinator is, I would rest assured that they will handle every little detail for you! I do feel bad for the fact that you brides who are still in the planning process don't really have anyone to contact though... eek. What I would do is fill out that wedding planning packet that you should have received in the email and then write a list of questions and keep adding to it until you have someone to contact. You also have great references here, so let me know if I can help. Overall though I want to let you guys know that there is no need to worry because they will take care of it - whatever it is. You will have your dream day here. I'll write a full review pretty soon here but for right now I have some unpacking to do... my least favorite part of traveling!smile27.gif

@Amanda - Congratulations!! I can't wait to hear all about your special day!

@sprinkles920 - Congrats! I am sure you will have a beautiful wedding. Please fill us in when you get back!

Well I am panicking! lol! May explain why Yamina has not responded to my email from last week. I had a few requests & questions. Hopefully someone else will read them & get back to me.

I am confused when you say "What I would do is fill out that wedding planning packet that you should have received in the email and then write a list of questions and keep adding to it until you have someone to contact. "

I never received any kind of planning packet through email. This is what is making me panic!!! Although a few months ago Yamina sent me a confirmation # for the wedding so I guess I shouldnt worry.

not rude, its just not what we want to see...    we create from the inside, recreating anything for a photojournalist who shoots off the cuff is not going to help us...  We once had a bride who made a book of images she liked, but she never once showed us them, until the shoot day.   As she said, these aren't for my photographer to "mimic or copy" the shots, for HER to figure out how to pose.

But seriously, handing over a list of shots or exact photo examples for me to replicate is NOT my idea of "help".    I want to be free and shoot from my heart, I'm happy to do variations on a theme, but I don't want to be cliche just because the world has cliche ideas.

your mileage may vary... good luck!

matt

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
