Excellence Playa Mujeres Brides Post Here!

Hey Trisha!

Yes, I don't think I got your original reply. I am getting married at 5:00pm under the Gazebo!! I had considered the beach, but I was wondered that it would still be a bit too hot for my guests. That said, I hear it is a bit hard to get good pictures from the Gazebo because of how it's structured :-/

Our weddings are at the same time ...that's insane! LOL!

My wedding party is very, very small. I have one MOH and there's no Best Man. We invited about 20 guests, and of those, only about 8-10 will realistically attend. I totally agree that a smaller guest list = less stress (and happier Bride!!) cheesy.gif

Are you having a civil or symbolic ceremony? My fiance and I will probably end up legally getting married in the U.S. and having the symbolic wedding in Mexico (but we won't tell anyone so as not to spoil the moment).

I read somewhere that Yamina finalizes the details of every wedding a month prior to the date, so we still have time. In the meantime, I'm just finalizing things at home, like wedding gowns, wedding bands, welcome bags, etc etc. I'm sure I don't feel nearly stressed as I would if I was planning a traditional wedding, but I do feel the occasional split-second moment of panic for fear of missing some important detail.

How are you feeling? Are you having your honeymoon at EPM also?

Ladies,

I just want to share the super cute OOT bags I just got in the mail today. They were only $1.00 each.  They are the perfect size for carrying down to the pool/beach and good quality for that price. Plus, you get an assortment of colors which is nice!

Hi Ladies!

Congrats to all of you guys! I think after much research, my fiance and I have decided to have our wedding at Excellence Playa Mujeres April 14, 2012. We are in contact with our travel agent and hopefully by Monday will have our contract all set and done. This forum has been so helpful! I'm just a little worried for Yamina said that she has our wedding date "reserved" but it won't be final till we sign our contract with our TA. I really hope I'll be able to get the 5:00pm time slot and if not, I will be totally bummed. But hopefully we'll be able to work something out.

Do you guys know what the weather is like in April? It just seems so windy from the pictures that I've seen.

Happy planning ya'll!

Yes itâ€s totally insane! Iâ€m excited just to know someone that is getting married at the same resort at the same time & place!

Iâ€m not having a MOH or a best man; we just decided to keep it small & simple. Just the two of us! Then should be 6-8 people!

I was a little worried about the heat too, but itâ€ll all work out!

We are going to have a symbolic ceremony and get married here in Oklahoma at the court house, or justice of the peace or whatever they call it. J I just didnâ€t want to do the whole marriage certificate in Spanish, and worry about the blood test and all that stuff down there. We will go by August 19th as our anniversary date though, and not the date we get married here at home. Iâ€ve heard that when you go to the courthouse to get married, it feels like youâ€re going to sign a few papers, and is just like signing mortgage papers or something! cheesy.gif

Iâ€m feeling pretty much the same way you are, but I know that itâ€ll all work out. Iâ€ve just had some dreams about my make up not being right and then I had a dream about the stylist cutting my hair off( I have long brown hair) and dying it blonde while I was there, and it freaked me out! But, thatâ€s because Iâ€m really big on my pictures, I want them to turn out good, and Iâ€m a picture freak! Other than that, Iâ€m feeling okay as of now!

We are staying at the resort for a 7nights/8Days, so itâ€s a honeymoon/wedding. I would love to stay longer, but got to get back to work! We plan on taking another vacation in February (hopefully) though, and so thatâ€ll be sort of like our honeymoon.

Iâ€m so excited though!! We have been together a long time and we are now making it official!

Hola! Looks like I accidentally quoted you in my reply to Tish! Congratulations on getting married! I had my date “reserved†with Yamina for like almost 2 months before I could get the right travel agent to get me the price I wanted, so you will be fine!!! She will not give anyone your date and time. What I did was, just sent her an email weekly updating her on my progress and she always told me that I was good! Did you find a TA? My TA is awesome, fast, and they price match, just in case you need anyone!

Hi Everyone!

I just got back from EPM to check everything out this week and to meet with Yamina. SHe is exactly what everyone seems to describe her as.. SO sweet, extremely organized and willing to do whatever it takes to personalize and make your wedding exactly what you want. I ma so confident and VERY happy with my choice to have my wedding here!

I asked her about the "extra decor" that is included with the gold plan and she said they have the regular decor such as the rocks with glass candle holders that you see in their pictures online or the giant seashells.. you can choose one or the other and the extra would be rose petal aisle runner, or a large flower arangement for the ceremony.

The resort is incredible! Very romatic and the perfect atmosphere for a wedding. I have to say, I am still torn between having our wedding on the beach or at the gazebo!  They are both beautiful!

If anyone has any questions about the resort or would like any pictures, let me know! I am a travel agent , so I took a ridiculous amount of pictures of the place to share with my clients.. and our guests of course :)

I was thinking about you & was wondering how your trip went! Glad you had such a great time & were not disappointed.

Thanks for the info about the decor. I too am having a hard time deciding on the ceremony. We had planned on the gazebo but after hearing that its hard to get good pictures we have been contemplating the beach. My only concern for the beach is there is no shade for my guests.

I am glad to hear you had a wonderful time at EPM and it sealed the deal for you!...just a few quick questions.  I am in the final planning stages and leaving in a couple of weeks.  How was the weather when you were there- is the humidity bearable?  I am wondering if the breeze/wind near the beach helps with the heat?  We are getting married at 5:00 pm on the beach on the 28th. Also,  I am unclear about decorations for the dinner that is included with the gold package? Did you by any chance discuss this with Yamina- do you know if anything is included to decorate tables or if it is all extra? I am leaving the 25th for EPM and have sent her a list of my final choices, but there are some things we will discuss when I get there. I know the time between now and then will fly!  Thanks for you time in answering any of the above questions.  Happy planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
