We plan on using the guitarist recommended by Yamina and as far as decorations, we were just going to go with the flowers we chose.

We are getting married on January 29th 2011... it's coming up so fast!!!  We have about 50 guests.... yay!

Question- what did you all do for music during the ceremony?  What decorations did you do for the ceremony and reception?  Should I bring them or count on just doing flowers they provide?

Also- any suggestions on items for the OOT bags?

Thanks for all of your help!!!

Hi Ladies,

It has been awhile since I have posted.  We got married on 12/10 and we stayed at the restort until 12/18.  Everything was AMAZING!!!!  I wish we could do it all over again.   I know how hard it is planning a wedding that you cannot see and sometime comunication is tough with Yamina, but rest assured it all works out.   I wish I could tell you girls everything little detail but there are just too many things to mention, so if you have questions let me know and I will do my best to answer them on my expericence.  Here is a link to my wedding slideshow that I put toghether and a friend added our wedding music. http://www.vimeo.com/18108777

If you cannot click on the link friend me on facebook so you can see the slideshow/pictures from there, Erin Galvin Muehlhausen.

Thanks,

Erin

sorry fo the delayed response...holidays....

http://www.javierrojas.com.mx/ is the website of the guitarist Yamina recommended to me.  We arent choosing any specific songs, we thought we would just let him play what he feels is best.

Hi Ladies!

I just got back from vacationing in Cancun and my fiance and I have the opportunity to do a site visit of EPM and meet with Yamina. First of all, THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! If you haven't seen it, you cannot go wrong with this place. Yamina was very attentive and toured us around this entire resort, she showed us all the restuarants, which they now have 9, they just opened a new Indian restaurant. The rooms are amazing and this resort is immaculate! I was going to do the ceremony on the beach, but we're getting marriend in July and it'll be really hot, so we opted for the gazebo, which is beautiful as well. Yamina did mention that it takes her 24-48 hours to respond to emails because she's the only wedding planner, this way it eliminates miscommunication by dealing with too many people. I'm not getting marrried until July 2012, but this is definitely the resort.

Please let me know if you have questions and I will do my best to try to answer them for you.

Nicole

I just want to offer a word of advice to my fellow brides -- be very careful who you choose to be your travel agent. We went with a local agent recommended by a friend, and it has been an absolute nightmare. She has broken our contract with her many times and now I'm convinced she has outright lied to us. I'm afraid we are going to have to take her to small claims court, and it's been stressing my finance and I out for months.  We can't just fire her because all our friends have given her their credit card info already.

You should post her name here so that no one else uses her.   I am using Laura Sangster and so far she has been great!

With the photographer Juan, how much are they charging you to use him? Also, how much was the DJ? Sorry for the finance questions, we are just spending a lot flying family there so watching the budget! Thank you so much for your help! Much appreciated.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
