Yay!!! I am so glad it is working out. I have been researching different places for this boat thing for 2 weeks now and Allen has been amazing and he does have really great prices. You will be there before me so you have to let me know how it works out!! :)

Also how long are you taking the catamaran out for? We are doing a 4 hour trip but not sure if we should have them take us to Isla Mujeres?? Still debating. Let me know.

Well I am not sure that we are going to do the boat now.  He just sent me a picture of it and it looks as if there is a cabin but not much room for seating outside of that.  We were planning a sunset cruise for about 3 hours.  I wanted a catamaran, but when he sent me pictures it was not what I was thinking in terms of a catamaran.  I emailed him this afternoon so hopefully he will get back to me with another option.  Ill let you know!

Hello!  Alex, Juan Navarro's associate did my wedding.  Juan and Alex did my TTD pics. I highly recommend both of them, I love my pics.  If you or anyone else would like details about my experience or to see my pics please email me at duncancls4@yahoo.com.  Prior to getting married, I wished I had someone to talk to so I would like to offer myself as a person to speak with regarding the photographer.  Please feel free to contact me.

Is anyone else using that package for their photos, if so have they seen the work? Or do you have any recommendations of other photographers?? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

Many thanks,

Erin

Hi Shanna!  Did you guys have to pay extra to go over to the villas?  Do you know how that was set up?  Through Yamina?

Sorry I am just getting back with you, it has been a bit crazy here for us.  We are having our local reception here for all those that could not make it to Mexico next

Saturday, so I am running around getting everything in order, I could really use a wedding coordinator like Yamina right now.  :-)

As far as the Villa next to EPM, our photographer, Vincent, had made arrangements to go over there, he just took us over right after the ceremony. From the ceremony on,

I had no concept of time, sorry, but it did take a while, it was sooooo worth it!  We did a cocktail hour for everyone, so they were fine eating some snacks and drinking while

they waited for us. No one cared at all.

Here is our slideshow from Del Sol, they are amazing, I am so very glad that I went with them.

Hey girls!  I am getting married at Excellence Playa Mujeres on October 23rd, 2010 at 4pm!  I have been reading this blog for the past few months and it has been so helpful!  Yamina just confirmed our venues for the cocktail hour and reception.  Cannot believe I am leaving in 19 days for Mexico!  We are having 36 people coming with us and I am so excited!  Question, how are you all getting your wedding dress down there?  Anyone heard of people having an issue carrying it on?  I have had a few girlfriends do destination weddings and have had no problems but I am just curious what everyone else is doing.

Hello!

I have been reading this blog since I booked my wedding at EPM back in February, but haven't posted much.  Everyone has helped so much- thought I'd post about my experience on my site visit.  We will be getting married there in January.

My fiance and I went to Mexico (playa del carmen) for a last minute trip ( got a great deal at a little resort in playa) and had the opportunity to go up to EPM for a site visit one day this past week.

I met with Yamina, saw the property, and had dinner at one of the restaurants.  Yamina was the nicest person- so informative and really took time to show me everything... from an example of every room type available to every pool, bar, and restaurant on the property.  The property is gorgeous!!  She was so nice and really explained everything will happen between now and the wedding.

The food and wine was great- we had dinner at the French restaurant and were very impressed with both the quality of the food and wine and the service.

After seeing the gazebo- we are torn between the gazebo and the beach... it will be a hard decision.... anyone have suggestions one way or another??

Something to keep in mind... it's quite a drive from the airport and from Cancun.  We really didn't want to be that close to Cancun- but after hearing from my guests- some will be staying off property and thought it wouldn't be a problem to get to the resort from Cancun hotels.  However- it seems that it may be a pretty expensive (and long) cab ride from Cancun.

Do any of you have guests staying off property?  How do you explain that it will cost a lot of money to bring them on to the property for events?  I feel bad asking them to pay for the $100 night pass and the $70 event pass- but we have a rehearsal/welcome dinner planned for Friday and the ceremony on Saturday... that makes for a lot of additional expense for us if we pay for those events for those staying off property.

Anyway- thought I'd share my experience.  If you have any suggestions about the off site guests- let me know!

Thanks!!

I am 5 days after you!  10/28/10!  I plan on carrying on my wedding dress.  I have done it once before when I traveled to my best friends wedding.  I know baggage can get lost so I wanted to make sure that my bridesmaid dress and shoes got there safely!  I would check on the airline policy online.  Most will let you store it up in business class or in the attendant closet.   I am sure they will take good care of you!  Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
