Excellence Playa Mujeres Brides Post Here!

I am only have 14 guests in Mexico but 50 at our at home reception.  We are doing the gold package cause the food put it over the top for us, plus all the little extras.  We are bumping up our photo package too.  When you think about it the gold package is quite worth considering all you get versus what you might have paid to do your wedding at home.  The only thing I really splurged on was for my Mexican wedding guests was personal embroidered beach towels, it cost me a fortune in Canada, but they are really nice.

Hi Ladies,

It has been awhile since I have posted anything. I have 3 months till the wedding. If anyone is planning on adding "extras" on to the packages? Like centerpieces or the ceremony arch or chair covers. I am not wanting to add to many extras but I also don't want the ceremony and dinner/reception to look plain. Let me know what you guys are doing or if you think just the resort's ambience is enough. Thanks Ladies!!!

P.s. @Snikers congrats on the big day coming up so soon, you must be so excited!! It would be great if you keep us in the loop of how everything went down!

Take care,

Erin

For those who already had their wedding- any feedback on the cake?  Since we are not able to taste them ahead of time I am having a hard time choosing.  Any feedback would be GREATLY appreciated.  Thanks!

Hi all,

I've been going back and forth with Yamina about the wedding menu and I'm really confused. Based on past posts, it seems like people were able to offer at least two entree options plus a veggie option for their receptions, but then she emailed me today and said the sauces and the garnishes have to be the same for all the dishes. I don't want to be serving fish and beef with the same sauce. Please help!

Hi Everybody,

Sorry that I've been MIA for a while. It has been good to read your recent posts and catch up on your latest news. Well, here's the latest with me. I had a mini break down a few weeks ago! We hadn't yet booked our trip but had already finalized the plans in our head when future MIL decides to suggest that we do the wedding in Hawaii instead. I know, I know. It's not that big of a deal and I should probably expect a ton of questions and suggestions about our location. I guess it really pushed my buttons because about 6 months ago we talked to both families and apprehensively told them our plan to marry at EPM. We left room for suggestions. We talked it out. Everyone agreed with our plans! Why couldn't she bring this up 6 months ago?

Well that's all behind us now. We have booked our trip. I have pretty much completed our wedding website. I just ordered really cute Save the Date postcards. I'm ready. The plan is set and there's no turning back now. I'm just excited for those who DO show up because I know that they will fall head over heals with the location and they'll understand why we made the decision to marry there. Well... that's the latest with me!

Hello all my fellow EPM Brides!

We just got back from our wedding-moon at EPM, it was just amazing!  Yamina is so great, she had every email that I had sent her and she got every detail that I had wanted, just perfect.  She is so sweet, so anyone that has any doubts, just know that you are in the best hands there.  It rained right as my guest sat down for the ceremony at 5:00, but I would not change it for the world, the air cooled and we had the most incredible rainbow, it made me cry as I walked down the sand to my future husband. Vincent from Del Sol Photography was just wonderful, I can not wait to see the images from him.  He even made my sweet husband comfortable in front of the camera, he HATES having his picture taken.  After the ceremony we went to the Villa next to the resort (this is one of the homes of the owner of the Excellence Resorts), you must get shots there with your hubby, it is just lovely.

Hope this helps give you lovely ladies a bit of insight to your upcoming weddings, if you have any questions, I am happy to answer.

I will post pictures as soon as I get them.

Much Love and Happiness to you all.

Mrs. Baynton :-)

Hi everyone,

I have decided to have my wedding at Excellence but have not picked which one yet. My parents happen to be staying at the Rivera Maya location the first week of October and will be also going to the Playa Mujeres for a day to do a site visit. I was wondering if anyone is having their wedding that week so they can take a look for me

Thanks!

Jen

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
