What are you walking down the Aisle to?

Recommended Posts

I am considering walking down the aisle to Kenny Chesney's Me and You.....and during the signing of the register playing This Ring.....google it girls its a great song, I have never heard of the artist before or the song but its a really nice wedding song...and then I am thinking of playing after the wedding on our way out One Love by Bob Marley, in keeping with the Jamaican theme!!! I am still trying to decide what the bridal party walk into whether its the same song or a different one....perhaps Kenny G's the wedding song...its just a musical prelude!

love it!!! watson twins also do a very nice version ... i *think* i'm using the string quartet tribute verson tho. still unsure, since i kinda also fell in love with t. carter music's highland serenade celtic version of canon in D (fiance is irish, we're going to ireland for honeymoon!). maybe i'll end up using the string quartet tribute to the cure for my girls ... i had planned on using the somewhere over the rainbow thing, but my MOH just saw it used in someone's video and she was like, "duh, that's hawaiian, not mexican." i always just considered it beachy (and love the song), but now i'll feel kinda stupid for using it.

I am totally not even a Twilight fan but after seeing the movie I fell in love with the song that 'edward' plays on the piano for bella.. its called 'bella's lullaby' by Carter Burwell. And possibly 'River flows in you' by Yiruma since we have a large wedding party and I dont know how long we need. They are both very pretty paino melodies which is perfect cause I dont want any singing/lyrics..

OH MY!!!! So I already found my song, and I love the instrumentals. Then I went back after reading all your songs and looked up the lyrics. Lets just say it isn't the most love inspirational song.

BUT

I am in love with the instrumentals and even the lyrics.

I am walking down the isle to........

" This years love" by David Gray (i am obsessed with the piano in the beginning of this song and even the lyrics that start the song:

Heaven knows it's high time

I've been waiting on my own, too long

When you hold me like you do

It feels so right, oh now

The music to me is so beautiful and when I hear it I totally see myself walking down the isle focused on my FI and my mind all wrapped around the moment and the piano playing in this song.

I have to include we are a more non-traditional couple so here is the rest of our music line up:

bridal processional:

"Can't get enough of your love" Barry White (I do expect them to dance down the isle)

recessional: after they announce us husband and wife they will start

"You're the first, my last, my Everything" Barry White right where Barry White says -"We've got it together baby, (then it breaks into fun instrumental then) You're the first, my last, my everything... your the sun, the moon, the guiding star, my kind of wonderful that is what you are...." We plan to dance down the isle....

I have to say I am really excited....

Then when they welcome our wedding party I think we may have them play "Let's get it started" by Black Eyed Peas and when they introduce us we are a little torn but thinking "Remember the Times" by Michael Jackson....

We are a party bunch and want this to be all about a celebration more than a ceremony. So we felt the music, well and our friends, will set the tone.

would love feedback...

I have the same question about making a smooth transition between songs. Anyone have suggestions?? or is there a post about this?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
