SGOR Beach Brides?

Recommended Posts

We were in the actually Rivera building. It had an amazing view which I know you saw from our youtube videos. lol. We have already decided when we go back we are staying in the same room. We didn't have any of the upgrades. It was a basic room but we loved it. All the rooms seem like they are great though. I loved all the dark wood and huge beds! I think all rooms have that. We originally were going with cheapest room possible on the Manor side. Then we decided this might be only time we were going so we upgrades to the ocean front. My husband had never even seen the ocean til then! Honestly we paid only alittle more for that. The first thing I did every morning was look out the double doors to see how the sun reflected off the water for an amazing blue color.

I hope you are looking for too much parting! The resort really dies early. There is alot of drinking through the day though. BTW try an Jamaica Smile. You will be hooked after that..lol I guess there is sooo much to do through out the day people just crash at night. Plus the sun sets really early. The night we got married we ended up at the night club and by 11:30 or 12 we were the only ones in the club. It honestly was a lot of fun though! Then we went swimming (in our clothes except Hollis who stripped down to his skibbies..lol) When it is closer to time for you to go, ask me about the private pool. I will tell you how to get to it. Hardly anyone knows it's there and you will be the only ones in it! Plus it is alittle deeper than the others. Downfall is no bartender there..lol oh I just want to go back!!! Wanna hide me in your suitcasehuh.gif?

LOL If my mom finds out I hid ANYONE in my suitcase she'll kill me...she's okay with us going alone but said she would kill me if anyone went...all or nothing!! lol

Okay so the place shuts down a little early lol...well as long as there is a bartender SOMEWHERE, Tom and I will make a party for ourselves lol. You're right, though, we will probably crash early after all the sun and activities! There are two nightclubs, right? I suspect the one on the manor side is even less popular than Riviera.

I'd love to know about the private pool...I will remember to ask you when it's closer! I'd also love to know your favourite restaurants...I heard it's sometimes hard to get reservations at certain places...will we be allowed to make all of our reservations as soon as we get there?

Getting more and more excited with each day!! 107 days left!!

I am just flat out jealous..lol I would love to be doing it all over again! I love being married and where I am right now but to do it all over again would be awesome!

There really is only one restaurant that you will have trouble getting into and I honestly cannot remember the name of it right now. It is in the Rivera building and you will have to pass it to get to the beach. We went as soon as it opened and got right in the one night. It was really good but I like the Italian place a lot to.

I know if you plan on going to Dunn's River there is a place there that is hard to get into but I herd it is amazing! We tried and couldn't get in. We didn't call until our 5th or 6th day there I really wish we would have gone though. I would have liked to have seen how the two resorts differ.

The private pool is really close to the basketball court. Kinda close to the pool with the water that fall off the side wall. It looks like you are going back to some cottages or onto staff area but you are not. That is just in case I don't talk to you before you go.

Thanks as always! I'm gonna do research on the restaurants (I like good food!) and plan out a couple of the really good ones! (Tom's spontaneous but I like a plan lol) Maybe I'll see if I can reserve at Dunn's River the first or second day...we're staying 10 days so maybe we'd get one near the end!

Thanks for the directions to the private pool too!

I think we are talking about the same pool. It is the one that has all the tall green tree's and bushes. The pool is deeper that too, like 8 feet. It is VERY private. I know most don't know about it unless they study the map..lol We did not find it until the day before we left. It's not the one that is out in the open that has the volleyball net set up at it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
