Plus I have a 6 month old to bring for 2 weeks...I've been told I should bring all of his food, diapers and necessities. Plus I have 75 stainless steel mugs, 36 OOT bags, candles, vases, yeah 44lbs. So anyway, Air Canada Cargo is a saviour!!
Thanks for the info...but I'm going to Dominican Republic!!
I too am only allowed 44lbs!! I don't know how that's going to happen!! I might just pay for the extra suitcase!

We went with the standard ceremony. I think it lasted like 20 minutes from start to finish..although it may have been a bit longer for picture taking. Otherwise, it was quick & simple - the theme of our wedding lol

We originally had booked a boat through ScubaCaribe (sp?) for 1 hour but then found out my sister was pregnant and it probably wasn't a good idea. We went back to our room to freshen up..had a few drinks..lunch..then dinner & saw the show after. I thought I was going to be bored but really it worked out nicely! We even when and lounged on the beach for a while..it was nice & relaxing!

Where or how were your guests seated during the ceremony?
Also, were in the hamilton area did you find your parasols? (would be a nice gift for my girls and our moms)

Are you able to have Micheal take pics during your dinner and reception?

Sorry for all the questions.

Your pictures show all the love and fun you had that day.

Hi Susanna,

We didn't have guests at our wedding. Just us & the wedding party. Chandlyn originally wanted to set up chairs regardless and we had to tell her no..it would look silly to have chairs with no guests lol. If you have guests the chairs would be on the grass on either side of the aisle. I've seen pics before of this set up but don't have any on my computer to show you.

I got the parasols through weddingfavors.ca They are located in ontario so shipping didn't cost much and it was quick. I think they were around $8 each...I can't remember now sorry!

I had booked extra time through Michael. So, I split up the time I booked for someone from the photoshop to show up during the cake cutting ceremony. They have a few photographers roaming the resort taking pics of guests etc. As long as you let them know that you want someone there they can arrange it..it will just cost $$ for the time ;-)

We are getting married at 11am as well, did you keep your dress on all day ? What did you do after the ceremony ?
Sorry for all the question, but I was hoping to have a late ceremony and I had that all planned on what to do but they are fully booked and they only had 11am free so now I have got to replan.
Thanks!

The only things I brought myself were my flowers, the feathered pen & rose petals (but you can't see them because they blew away) I also brought my own champagne flutes for dinner & cake cutting set as well as cake topper etc.

I kept my dress on all day! It wasn't really hot and the sun was only out for a bit (during the ceremony & pics thankfully) and then it was overcast. But yes, you only do it once so I kept it on all day!

The 11am wedding wasn't that bad..not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. I had lots of time to relax and enjoy myself. The only concern with an 11am wedding is getting my hair done. I got up at 6am and I was still running around like a mad woman. So plan that part very well!

I wanted to add one small disturbing detail of my trip & one great detail about my trip that I forgot in my review.

When we arrived and our luggage arrived to our room we weren't there. We were over 1 room in my BIL's. Jeff went over quickly and met the bell hop there and got our luggage but as it turns out 2 bottles of perfume were stolen out of my suitcase. 1 Dolce & Gabba Light Blue & 1 Kenneth Cole Reaction. Both were in their boxes.

I thought something was strange when I went to open my suitcase and noticed 2 straps were hanging out & they weren't hanging out when we got off the plane..so...yes...someone stole my perfume and I had nothing to wear for the week.

One great thing that happened was when we met with Chandlyn we didn't get an opportunity to reserve a restaurant (yes you have to stand in line the day before & book for the following evening) as a rehearsal dinner. My emails with her stated we would have to go to St. Ann's (buffet). When we met with her Jeff asked her if she could arrange a dinner at Tushima for the 6 of us (2 of my guests were in Standard rooms and this a la carte restaurant didn't apply to them) and she came through for us. We were able to go to the restaurant 15 minutes before the doors opened and placed our wedding party gifts at their chairs. It worked out great!

Thank you for the reply..I realize you had lots of questions :). I was worried about nothing booked in between dinner and when the disco opens too (about being bored). Good to see you kept entertained.
Thanks about the perfume info too..I will be putting the lock on my suitcase.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
