PV - Welcome/Rehearsal Dinner Locations?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone - can anyone recommend some good locations for a welcome/rehearsal dinner? I realize our wedding is still far out, but we are planning a site visit to look at resorts on Feb. and I'd also like to visit any recommended spots at the same time.

Thanks, and Happy Turkey Day!

Trisha

We are having our welcome dinner at the Riu Vallarta resort since its all-inclusive. We are paying for our private reception so it works out better for us to just choose a retaurant for everyone to meet at.

Also, use the search button and you will find tons of recommended locations

HI Trisha, happy turkey day to you as well :)

What type of restaurant/location are you interested in? DO you want a small venue where you can host a private welcome dinner? Are you interested in a certain type of menu? I know of a great little Mexican restaurant in the older PV area. I forgot the name but I'll look it up on the card I have when I get home. They do great Mexican authentic cuisine and really tend to their customers. They even make the guacamole right in front of your table. Oh one more thing, are you interested in a live music at all?

We looked into Los Burros Bar - super casual, on the beach, budget friendly. Daquiri Dicks and Fajita Republic. Los Burros Bar and Daquiri Dicks were responsive. Fajita Republic, not so much. But I know Celina (Soontobemrse) had good luck at Fajita Republic.

In the end we didn't have a WD because I waited so long to plan it, oops! However I do have a contact person and some menus/pricing for Los Burros Bar and Daquiri Dicks if you want it.

Actually, Yari mght be the one who can answer this one better -- she's already had her rehearsal dinner at Vista Grill! But she gave it a great review! And the woman in charge of special events, Lily, has been fabulous about getting in touch and arranging a special prix fixed menu for everyone. We've even discussed table arrangements, decorations, etc. I can give an update again at the end of January!

Tara,
I would be interested in the info you received from Burros Bar (one of my fave spots on the beach in PV!) and Daquiri Dicks... We are looking for a spot for our rehearsal reception...

Thanks!
Jenn

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
