i added this to my post #5:

i also wanted to add that sometimes the bans are temporary, sometimes they are permanent. sometimes we will reconsider unbanning a member.

what NOT to do when you get a warning or get banned:

1. when you get a warning DO NOT reply saying that the rule is ridiculous, act indignant about the warning, or give attitude about the warning etc. this will lead to a ban.

2. if you are banned DO NOT re-join just to post about how ridiculous it is that you were banned. this will just get your IP's banned.

3. if you are banned DO NOT stalk me or the mods asking for an explanation on why you were banned. an explanation is given on the screen that tells why you are banned. we do not need to elaborate or give you a satisfactory explanation.

4. if you are banned and want to get re-instated, DO NOT send a half-ass apology. getting 4 long emails from you saying you are sorry but the forum rules are stupid, then asking to be re-instated, is not going to fly. it is just going to re-inforce our decision to ban you as the right one.

i know these all sound like very obvious Do's and don'ts but you would be suprised.

I wanted to add a little as well. We know people make mistakes, and some people have been banned (usually temporarily) for these mistakes. if it's an honest mistake or misunderstanding we're usually happy to just let the ban expire or in some cases remove the ban early.

The best thing to do is read, understand, and follow the forum rules! If you have questions, ask, but don't criticize how the forum is run as the rules are all in place for a reason ... even if you don't understand that reason.

Janine and Patourn, thanks for the support.

Some days we get over 5000 posts a day, so it is surprisingly hard to keep the information on the site organized and useful.

When people complain about the rules or that they should be allowed freedom of speech to post whatever they want, please be reminded that this is a private website. We do not appreciate spam on the forum. We also have rules about what is ok to post and what is not ok.

Would you like it if people went on your wedding website and posted whatever they wanted? If you deleted a post in your guestbook from someone saying your groom is a jerk, is it not your perogative to do so?

Also, there is a reason why we do not allow certain things to be posted, like sharing your photographer. We have over 22,000 registered members on the forum. What if every member decided to post that they were looking to share a photographer? Then when someone did a search on "photographers" the information would contain all the threads about people looking to share phtographers including threads made back in 2007. This information is not relevant to the site and not helpful to the majority of brides. If you want to share your photographer, post that info in your signature, that way when you have found someone to share you can remove the info from your signature.

Or we do not like if you post the same thing in multiple forums. This is considered spam. 1. the information is repetetive. 2. which post do people respond to? now the information is spread in multiple threads instead of 1 central thread.

Finally, whether you like the rules or not, they are in place and it is YOUR responsibilty to read them, understand and follow them. If you choose not to do so, you risk being banned and MAY NOT get a warning.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
