Panic attack

Recommended Posts

We just got a call from out WC/TA and she said that RIU Cabo requires 3 business days arrival before wedding. We planned to arrive on Sunday and getting married Wed. night at 6pm. Riu said the day of wedding cannot count and we must arrive the thursday before to count as 3 business days. This is not something we want to do. So our options:

1) get married here in Charlotte before Cabo and just do a ceremony

2) bag cabo and find new location/or date

3) postpone wedding and pick new date (april 200cool.gif

My guests are pounding on the door ready to book and we don't have anything set yet!!! ugh

Help

I agree with what the others have already said. If you'd prefer to get married this year, you should just do the legal ceremony before you get to Cabo.

That's what we're doing. The resort had limited availability, so I'm ending my summer clerkship 2 days early so that we can get down to Cabo on Thursday & have the ceremony on Saturday. It's so much easier (and cheaper) to take care of the legal marriage here!

I honestly couldn't agree more... just get legally married at home - but honour your ceremony date. That's what we're doing, but we'll legally get married once we get back to save on stress. I just see it as putting the seal on the deal, and I consider my Los Cabos wedding the REAL one.

I am getting married at Dreams on a monday and I am having my blood tests on friday(48 hrs before). Sunday is not considered a business day. So I need to fly in on thursday. Dreams is on the corridor and Riu is in Cabo San Lucas so the rules may be different. We are flying in on Wednesday though, just to have a day to enjoy by ourselves.

As far as where/when to get married I took a different approach. As much as I did not like the fact of getting blood tests in a different country, I wanted that day to be my wedding day, not a spiritual day. Also I felt as if I were cheating my guests. They are paying over $2000 to see me get married, not have a spiritual ceremony. So I opted to do it all there. Either way works and getting married in the states is probably so much easier. Everyone is different and thinks differently, so you need to decide what is best for you and your fiance.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
