Today we went shopping for all our Thanksgiving supplies and I decided to get the living room and house clean because the first of our guests arrives tomorrow.
My mom flies in tomorrow evening and then my step-dad will be here Tuesday. Lucky me gets Wednesday off as well.
We are also having some friends over for Thanksgiving so we will have a full house (we live in a townhome so not a whole lot of room).

Anyway, while I was cleaning I decided to go ahead and make room for the Christmas tree (we bought a fake last year much to my hubby's dismay).

Our family tradition is to decorate Thanksgiving weekend, but I am kinda considering setting the tree up so we can do it Thanksgiving night (I think I am excited because this is my first Christmas being a mommy and I know she won't remember it, I will always remember her first Christmas)

So when do you set up your holiday decor?
Christine + Will (married 7/20/07) + Ainsleigh (born 6/25/08) + Nolan (born 11/9/10) + Delaney (born 12/31/13) = One Very Happy Family!

Growing up we decorated just 1-2 weeks before Christmas because we left everything up until the feast of the 3 kings which I believe is january 6th. (you get to give a gift that day too..woohoo!)

Now DH & I get the tree 2-3 weeks prior to Christmas, we like it to be sort of fresh on Christmas day and take it down shortly thereafter.

When I was shopping for Halloween candy at Ralph's they were decorating for Christmas - it was madness!

We usually try not to decorate until after Thanksgiving BUT Ryan is off this weekend and it will be his last off until the middle of December. We are going to decorate the outside tomorrow I think. Then I will decorate the inside after Thanksgiving. We will probably do our tree next weekend.

I try to get everything up by right after Thanksgiving. This year is gonna be a task though with painting and redoing all the floors upstairs! I feel like I live in a dust hole right now. Plus packing more stuff then anything in my dining room! So I'll prolly do it around the 2nd week in Dec.

We to keep all our stuff up until after the Feast of the 3 Kings. I think my mother would kill me if I took it down sooner, oh and so would the cat who takes up residence under the tree.

As a kid we used to go and cut down our Christmas tree on my mom's birthday (Dec 17th).
Since I moved in with FI I want to start decorating super early, but he's set a date of Dec 1 for me because I"m super eager. LOL!

we always decorate the day after Thanksgiving. I am sad, we are not decorating anything this year. With the wedding and traveling for the holidays we just figured it would be easier.

I voted for 1st week in december.. Its rare I have enough energy around Thanksgiving to do it. I cant wait to decorate this year since we just got new landscaping done in the front of our house.

We are doing it Thanksgiving weekend as usual. I tried to get Brian to set up the tree this weekend, but he said no way because it's too early. I totally know what you mean about being excited though, Christine. Even though Ainsleigh and Aiden have no idea what's going on and won't remember this, Christmas is like 1000 times more fun and exciting now. I wrapped a bunch of presents yesterday and Aiden is already trying to get into them and rip the paper off. It's going to be so much fun to see him destroy all the wrapping paper/gift bags. I'll have to break out the video recorder.

Anyway, it's kind of good that we did wait, because I guess since he's crawling around and getting into everything, I have to buy one of those babygates to put around the tree. I just wish they weren't so ugly

As soon as the last person leaves our house I start decorating. LOL, yes I am crazy. I love to decorate, it is so much fun.
