Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta

Recommended Posts

Beautiful Mexican decor property, located on the best beach of Puerto Vallarta, its rooms are all facing the Pacific Ocean. This property is one of the most representative hotels in town with the greatest service and outstanding facilities for individuals or groups.

This is one of the 8 or so properties we visited on our scoutting trip & I wanted to post that we were very impressed with it. The grounds are very pretty (think lush & tropical) not just concrete hotel stuffed in a small strip of land. It's probably our top pick of hotels in the hotel zone, but they host huge conventions, so it's not always practical for weddings or wedding guests (groups) to stay there. I think they offer EP or AI plans, which is a nice option to have.

Hi, just wanted to resurrect this thread and ask if anyone has ever stayed at the Fiesta Americana or know someone who has or has heard anything about it? I'm dying for any tidbit of info. Trip Advisor has generally favorable reviews, but you ladies' opinions matter most!

We're considering FA because:

1. Prices seem reasonable (not too high).

2. Non-AI with option of 'upgrading' to AI. We like the flexibility for some of our guests who want to go all out. (But does anyone know how to buy this upgrade? We've been looking on Expedia/Orbitz and it doesn't seem to have the option to upgrade. Do you do it once you get there?)

3. We hear that it has one of the better beaches in PV. (Maybe not as nice as Dreams, but Dreams is beyond our budget and the budget of our guests.)

4. Good location - in between both downtown and the marina areas.

Any info would be helpful, especially any bad experiences anyone's had.

Thanks!

1- when we were comparing, the prices were similar to Dreams. If Dreams is less than $20-$40 a day, then I'd upgrade to Dreams. All of our guests thanked us and Raved about it.

2- Have you checked prices though Discountallinclusive.com or Funjet?

4- It's in the Hotel Zone of PV with several other big name hotels. Closer to downtown than the Marina or Nuevo Vallarta.

Well I've never stayed there but from reviews I've read people seem to be pretty happy with the hotel itself. I also have to say that the beaches really are inferior in that area. Not as bad as they come, but not really appealing either which stinks when you are on a tropical vacation.

Maybe have a TA check into how much the price increases if you go AI. If it is within a few hundred dollars difference to move to Dreams or an AI further south I would go for it if at all possible. Between now and your wedding people can hopefully save the extra few hundred.

You may not end up spending that much time at the hotel but your guests will, and a nice beach is highly appreciated. I had some guests who elected to stay at the Sheraton which is further south than FA and they didn't want to swim in the water there. They were bummed but stuck to the pools...at least FA does seem to have great pools if that's where everyone ends up.

On Orbitz, Dreams was waaaay more than FA. Close to double. But I'll check out Discountallinclusive.com or Funjet and see what I get there. Dreams would be my "dream" location, but cost is the biggest worry for us. Especially since we'll be paying for both our sets of parents and 4 siblings also!

How are the beaches in the Marina area (eg, Mayan, Marriott)? I've read that they are worse than in the hotel zone. A nice beach is definitely a priority for us, but we don't want to be too far from downtown, like in Nuevo Vallarta.

Thanks again!

Yep, from my experience the beaches are better in the hotel zone. The first time I went to PV a cabby told us that the hotels and such in the Marina are built on an old landfill and that the beach is basically manmade. The hotels there are gorgeous though.

Paying for all those people does cost a heck of a lot. If you do stay at the FA everyone will have a good time so don't worry about it. Plus, if they don't like the beach there and want to get in the ocean, they can always walk down the beach or take a cab to Playa Los Muertos which is close and has nice water. It will all work out :o)

Hi all, I just wanted to ad that it would be way easier for people to get around PV from the Fiesta in comparison to Dreams. We walked to many locations from Fiest, but you have to take a Taxi or Mismaloya bus to Dreams. It is a nice bus ride, but the bus gets full pretty quick, especially in the morning. and also the Mismaloya doesn't come as often. sara

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
