Any Eldorado Seaside Brides??

Recommended Posts

I don't normally use a TA, but if I can't make any progress on my own, that might be an alternative to try; thanks for the suggestion! They are VERY slow at responding to inquiries. I sent an e-mail last Thursday and still no response...grrrr :). I know I have lots of time, but I'm excited and want some answers!!!

I know that there are a number of TAs on this site that you could try, but the one I used was The Wedding Holiday www.theweddingholiday.com - Lorraine (the owner) is one of Karisma resorts top sellers, so she is usually able to swing some extra perks for her brides.

I've been busy doing a lot of planning since I last posted, and even though the wedding is still a year away, I feel like I've made some key decisions!  missbliss, thanks for the recommendation for "The Wedding Holiday".  I've been in touch with Lorraine and we're going to use them to book our group.  Speaking of our "group" , it actually seems to be turning into a group!  Originally it was just going to be my FI and I, and two close friends.  Now we're at 12 people, and growing!  So much for my simple, private affair - but I'm not complaining...it's nice that people want to join us!

The date has been booked for August 9th, 2011 and right now the ceremony is set for 3:30, but I may change the time.  I want to be able to get some photos in full sunlight and some at sunset, so I'm thinking a 5:00 ceremony might work better.  Does anyone have any experience or advice to offer on this?  And on photos, has anyone used Caribe Photo? I've searched this site but can't seem to find much information about them.  I'm not looking for a lot of pics (i.e. no pre-ceremony, not many (if any) posed group shots), but would like a few good ones of new hubby and I.  All of the photographer's sites I've looked at are charging more than we want to spend and have more coverage than we really want or need.  Caribe really matches our needs and budget best, but I would love to hear more opinions about them, particularly from anyone who has used them at EDSS.

Hi Ladies!

Its been a while since anyone has posted here and since Seaside is one of the resorts on my short list I'm wondering if anyone is currently planning a wedding there or has had theirs recently? What was your experience like there? From what I'm gathering there is a high outside vendor fee (I'm bringing my own photographers but they will be guests for 3 nights - not sure how the resort feels about that). Plus is everything through the lomas wedding site? It seems pricey for some options...

Thanks!

Seasides was one of my top 3 choices and I'd love to hear your thoughts on it once your all home.  I would still like to vaction there one day!

3kitties, we had a 3pm ceremony on Dec 1 and by the time our quick ceremony was over and we started to take pictures we were losing light fast!  So you may be ok with the 3:30 ceremony, but google sunset times for the Mayan in August, that's what I did!

JenFL I was married at a Karisma resort too and if you just don't mention that one of your guests is also your photographer, you'll be fine. My Uncle was up the whole ceremony taking photos and videos for us and the WC never said anything.  Getting a day pass for a photographer would be when you have to pay the outside vendor fee.  We didn't buy much from the Lomas site, just flowers and rented the table runners, vases and aisle runner.  In the end it turned out to be about the same price I would have been charged here at home for those things and it saved me from having to purchase and haul stuff down myself.  Try to keep in mind that you need minimal decor stuff, it is really beautiful and lush already since your in Mexico and at a 5 star resort. A few candles(battery operated b/c of wind!) or lanterns, some flowers or favors on the tables and it looks amazing!!

Enjoy girls, I loved my El Dorado experience!  Mmmmm...free room service!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
