This was 250 as was mentioned before. It worked so well and you couldn't even hear the show over our music. The vows were audible over the water during the ceremony. The speeches were audible at dinner and the music was great as well. The only thing I didn't like is that when you play music from your Ipod there is a few second lag between songs which you normally wouldn't have at a wedding. But I'm not sure anyone besides me really noticed or cared.

We saw a bunch of weddings and none with the wooden aisle runner. Agree that you should negotiate there, because they'll drop the price for sure.

No programs, but we did fans. The fans were okay, but it was windy and I'm not sure that anyone really used (or kept) theirs. I still think it was a nice touch, so I'm still glad we did them. We didn't do any favours, but I did design mini table post cards with a thank you note for each guest.

We also plan to send out custom photo gifts to all guests. More details to follow : )

I have been compiling a list from everyones examples and would like to give it to my photographer.. would this be helpful for me? And also for those that did the TTD.. was the resort going to charge you the 500 fee to do so on the resort? My photographer is telling me that we have to do ours offsite as the resort would charge me the 500 fee... when my photographer is one of the approved oneshuh.gif
We did our TTD at the resort the day before the wedding (and offsite) and didn't have any problems. Not sure if that was because he was staying at the hotel or not....

I would fight and fight on that one. Also, when in doubt, call Mexico and speak to Valeria. It helped for me on a few small things....

Hello everyone!! As promised, I'm finally starting to post my review of the wedding! I am going to post in parts because, really, there is so much information. Here is my first posting, which probably may not apply to many of you: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...475#post777169

Also...I agree with everyone on the ceremony time! My biggest regret from the day is picking a later ceremony time (4 pm). Our ceremony shots are amazing, but we ran out of time to get all the couple shots we wanted because of lighting (as John mentioned) and time. I would have picked 3 or even 2:30 for my ceremony time. That said...4 wasn't terrible, just not the most ideal timing :)

Thanks everyone for your input on the ceremony time. I am really going to push for an earlier time now! OMG now I am soo worried! There better be earlier times availalbe! Oh and 'SoonToBe' I really like the idea of the TTD the day before the wedding then you can relax the next day and not have to worry about getting up early for more pics.

Jodz10... don't stress you really do have lots of time... You would probably feel better if you were talking to the resort yourself (rather than through your travel agent.. I didn't even use a travel agent). But with that said... you have US! Anything that may cause you stress just ask... and if your still stressing, don't focus on 'how bad it could be' focus on how to work with what is dealt to you... and make the best of it. (is it obvious I was on a 'focus positive energy' seminar??)

we're here to help.. personally i don't know what I would have done without this group.. cuz my family and friends didn't want to talk wedding this much.. lol

You have lots of time, i planned mine from engagement Sept 14 to wedding was just under 5 months..

Don't worry about moving your ceremony earlier : ) As Nicky said, you have lots of time to change. I would reccommend starting to work directly with the hotel to plan everything. Your TA is too busy to be able to respond as quickly, and thoroughly, as you need her to! weddings@lomas-travel.com
is the email address I used. I worked with Valeria and she was fabulous!

When I was at the hotel they said they only do 2 weddings a day....so you should be able to move it up without any issues. Chances are your date and time and location will be free!

Also...the TTD the day before we so great : ) I loved it....as long as you have an extra dress!

Also...I posted my second review of our wedding. These take so long, but I hope all this work helps you ladies! Jodi, my post may provide some help to you because it focuses on pre-planning.....

Nicky's right...we're here to help wink.gif use us!

Thanks for all the great info Jen!! Wow! Love your wedding review so far as well!! Yeah you really are setting the bar high for us brides and having to do our reviews as well!!! lol

I am actually glad my ceremony time is set for 3pm now.. although I know I had to set it at this time especially in Nov for the daylight savings time and all that... but that should be lots of time for good lighting for our photographer. Just got confirmation that all 18 guests are booked and ready to go.. well flights booked and deposits down for the hotel!!! We actually bought the flights for the 10 guests flying out of Calgary here, and are just having them pay us back... for each person though the cost of the flights is only 575! Taxes in! Not going through our TA on this cause she has to get her commission in there and bumped the price way up! So all in all our guests only ended up paying 1691! I am stoked about that!!!

Tracey, I am so glad that everything is coming together for you! So exciting. I remember how excited I was when we finally booked....noone else seemed to really get how exciting it was....but I do :) You're REALLY getting married now, and people are REALLY coming!

I am glad you are enjoying my reviews, they take SO LONG to write, but I hope I'm able to help you girls out. I'm really writing with you in mind -trying to remember everything I would have wanted to know before we left. I just posted another one....

If you still have questions I (and Carolyn and Nicki I'm sure) am here to help answer them.

Congrats again on booking! That is such a huge milestone. bunny_4.gif

Ok so we were talking budget last night, and have decided to go with the free wedding package... really what is the difference in the silver package and paying the 2500 forhuh.gif To us that seems outrageous for the exact same stuff, well except the bouquet, boutineer, petite cake and champange... but I was going to be paying for those anyways... what really is included in that 2500 does anyone know?? I think its a rip off and can't believe I was going to pay to have the same thing as the free one!! That now should free up some extra money for whatever else I could want... is this why you guys chose to do the free wedding too? Cause its basically the same package only you don't fork out 2500US for it??

Tracy, i would def. go for the free package, i couldn't figure out what was worth the $2500!!! I think that is only if you don't have enough guests staying at the resort or something, then you have no choice....Save your money and put it towards a few little extras or whatever you want to splurge on!

I got my pro pics yesterday, and love them. EDSS is just so beautiful, you guys are not going to believe how beautiful your weddings are going to be!
