Any Eldorado Seaside Brides??

Recommended Posts

Room Category..

just a note... if your are booking a swim up room and for some reason dont like it?? Remember, the swim up room is the highest category.. so there is nothing saying your can't DOWNGRADE to an ocean view.

for us, we were unhappy with our swimup cause we were not there for a party, as our group was very small only 6 of us... and our room was right beside a bar so there was always people around. We asked for a DOWNGRADE and got a fantastic second floor ocean view room (much more private than a main floor suite and was probably twice the size as the swim up).

So if you are not happy, ask for a downgrade, we did and were very happy we did...

Ok thats awesome! I will reel and deal with them when we get there! What sort of things did you guys end up getting deals on??

Ok I have some more questions...

1. What did you end up using for your centerpieces? Did you like them?

2. What about your dress.. did you carry it on with you? Or have to fold and get it crumbled in the overhead things?

3. Did you have to repay for the chair bows and chairs for the reception or can they just be brought from the ceremony site and negogiate that when I get threre? They are trying to charge me twice for the same damn thing...

4. Did you have a cake? If so did you like how it turned out? And if you don't mind.. how much did you spend on it?

5. Again... I am trying to figure out if I am spending way to much on my wedding... what was your guys final costs for your weddings?? If you could let me know that would be awesome!!

Thanks ladies!!

Budget - the entire budget for our wedding (in mexico) as paid out to the hotel... not including the actual vacation and after qualifying for the 'free wedding' package.

we only spent $1489CND (all prices include the exhange we paid)

pics - 920

flowers - 192 (2 boutineers, bouquet and med centerpiece)

blood tests - 320

sand ceremony - 57

The day of the wedding they had put chair covers and bows on the chairs at the wedding site (no charge) it was a really great touch, but was not something we wanted to pay for.

if we include the upgraded room cost (for two weeks) it added another $1400cnd (much cheaper than the $2500 package if you don't get the room upgrade) so just under $3000.

I had mentioned before they screwed up our flowers (medium centerpiece - we asked them to be delievered to the room and they never were) and in turn gave us a beach supper in the beach gazeboo. All I asked was for my $50 (or $75 - can't remember) back.. and they don't seem to be able to give any $$ back, so they will give you ammenties instead.. since the $50 would have been much cheaper than the gazeboo supper and made up beach bed..

oh my goodness... mine would already be over that much.. wow thats a good budget!!! lol.. question though.. how come your blood tests came to 320? I was thinking they would only be 250 as the price was 125 each? And also the sand ceremony on lomas's website only says 45 dollars... oh I guess that is with the exchange, right.. gotcha now! lol.. my wedding seems way more expensive than yours so far Nicky... but I am not doing the free wedding thing.. so already my silver wedding package is 2500....

the reason we kept the 'wedding' costs so low is we had lots of other expenses... our actual holiday (2 weeks) I covered the cost of my parents (1week) and the AHR. All costs come out of our pocket, so we didn't get anthing extra, which worked out fine for us, I wouldn't change anything!!

p.s. I just sold my wedding dress last night. bought it for $550 (killer sale - regular 1300 I love ebay!) and sold it for $650

very exciting about the dress... I bet your smiling just thinking about it!!

marraige certifiacte - you sign your madian name as you have not formally changed it anywhere.. once your married you just have the option now to take his name, combine or whatever...

Ok Guys, I am back and I have to say the EDSS is the most incredible place to have a wedding! I can't wait to share some pics, and tell you the ins and outs of everything.

The main thing is DO NOT STRESS ABOUT THE DETAILS UNTIL YOU GET DOWN THERE!!! You can arrange everything much cheaper with the most incredible wedding coordinators!!! They are fantastic, wonderful, and go above and beyond what you pay for. I can't believe it is all over, but i feel like i had one of those weddings that only exist in movies!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
