I know.....one week. Crazy! I think he will LOVE the shots, even if he knows. It almost makes it better to build anticipation and to get his mind going ; )

I'm all packed and ready to go. Had to go in for another alteration on the dress yesterday and - thank goodness - she'll have the dress ready in two days and she's charging me next to nothing.... Phew.

Had my hair trial today and hoping it stands up in the heat....I took pictures and I'm printing them out to bring to the salon at the resort so that they can see what I want. I'm really glad I did the trial. Phew!!

I also printed out all my emails from Valeria, my final contract for the wedding and backing up any music that we're bringing down.

The list is smaller and smaller now with only a few little things to get done. Lots of appoints this week though.....pick up dress, hair appointment to get highlights, dentist appointment, get my ring replated...oh...and finish planning the wedding. It's too bad all of my things require me to be there otherwise I would enlist some help!

Oh well......I hope you uys are less busy the week before your big day!

Sorry thought of another question that my fiance's mom has been bugging me to find out about... its the transfers from the airport to the resort... how did that go Nicky? What all did you pay and what did you get a bus or van? Did you prepay it or when you all got there just found a couple of vans and paid the price onsite? What about you Jen... what are you planning on doing for that?? If you girls could let me know that would be great!

Thanks!

I booked my transfers direct through the lomas travel site. I know some of our guests booked transfers direct with our travel agent.

The trip through Lomas was $47 USD round trip and is on a basic bus. You can upgrade if needed...

Also, I know Lomas can provide a private bus or private van for you for larger groups. There's a cost, but I would talk to Valeria about arranging that.

Hey Nicky... I have to ask you about the photographer... How many shots did you end up getting? I was looking at the Lomas website thinking I wanted to do their photo package 3, but am trying to determine if we need all those photos printed that they mention on there. Did you have any printed by them or did you just get a cd with all the shots on it?

I am trying to determine which shots you didn't get, like it includes bride getting ready, ceremony, bride and groom, wedding party, cocktail, family and reception.. I wanted to get groom getting ready and some on the beach and pier with just us the bride and groom.. how many hours did you book them for? I was thinking about the 5 hours because it would be a good timeline for when we are getting ready up until the reception? What are your thoughts? Or anyone elses thoughts on this? 5 hours to short to long?? Any advice would help me out! I am trying to book them as our photographer but may try and reduce the cost if we can... let me know ladies! Thanks!

Hey Tracy I thought I would chime in because I just finished scheduling with Jen for her big day and have been peering into this thread from time to time. 5 hours seems ok if you want coverage up to the reception but you may not be able to fit in your first dance and cake cutting into it as well. To get one photographer to cover both yourself and the groom getting ready there are normally two options: 1) groom gets ready first, or 2) There is enough down time in between hair/makeup/dressing of the bride for the photographer to quickly head over to the grooms place to get pictures. Grooms pictures of getting ready can take as little as 10-15min. We guys get ready quickly.

Make sure the package says you get a CD of all your images. This way you may be able to get someone you know to touch up a few of them for you as I know most resort photographers don't do too much of that.

Hope that helps

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
