I'm so sorry to hear this!!! This is the last thing you guys need to be thinking about just before your wedding. If you need someone to talk to you could probably talk to Sylvia (syl115) she had this happen to her a month ago. She was an IT specialist and they were cutting back as well, but I think she had been working for them for 20 years! Hope everything works out for you! Enjoy your wedding!

Ra'Shunda, I am so sorry to hear this. It seems to be happening everywhere. I know you didn't want this to happen before the wedding. I just experienced the same thing only it happened after I returned from my honeymoon. It was also in IT. I had been with the company for 21 years. It was a shock, but I am working it out. But don't worry, I'm sure he will find another job soon, maybe even better. I posted my resume on Monster and have been getting several calls and emails and I am not planning to return to work for a little while. So keep your chin up. It will be ok.

Thanks BDW for all of the words of encouragement. Our plan is to focus on our wedding (I'm glad we have all the money we need for it already saved up) and enjoy our honeymoon. I've even added a trip to the golf course on the honeymoon to help cheer him up. We will tackle this head on when we get back. He gets a little severance package that will last until Jan '09 so we're hoping that he'll get his dream job next.

Awww, I'm sorry to hear about that! This economy is really relentless right now. I keep hoping things are going to turn around but bad news seems to be everywhere sad.gif

Sounds like you guys have a great plan of enjoying the wedding and honeymoon and worrying about it when you get home. You don't want all of your memories of this happy time to be clouded with worry.

Hugs!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
