Anyone Shop At Aldi's?

I've seen Aldi stores while I've been out and about, but never really thought about them. I just assumed they were a regular grocery store, but never actually bothered to go into one because I have just always shopped at ShopRite.

Anyway, I heard someone mention it on the radio this morning and she was talking about how she saves a lot of money by shopping there. As many of you can probably relate to, anything I can do to save money right now is appealing.

So I looked at the website and I have some questions:

Is this similiar to a wholesale store? Meaning, do I have to purchase items in bulk? Or can I purchase single items?

Also, you don't have to have a membership or anything to shop here, do you?

If you do shop at Aldi, or have ever shopped there what do you like or not like about it?

Thanks for the info!

We used to shop at one every once in a while when we lived close to one. you dont need a membership and dont need to buy in bulk like costco. they dont have bags so bring your own and they only take cash, check or debit card. they have a mix of name brand and brands that i have never heard of. the one thing i noticed, when ever we got bread there it didnt last long before going old. you can save quite a bit of money shopping there though.

hi we have aldis here in the uk i use it fairly regually as you do spend less.pauls dad got us 2 turkey crowns as we had them last year and were very nice.In the uk budget stores have seen an increase in sales.I get there washing powder and shower cleaner.I love the different yogurts too.All i can really say is if your cutting back then its worth having a shop there.Shopping becomes boring when you are trying to cut costs as you pick up the same brands and leave quickly.I think they are a european company not british that have done very well out of the credit crunch.I agree the bread dosent keep that well and you do need to take your bags.hope that helps

I love Aldi's for the basic staple items and also sometime they get great deals on brand name items (Tide, Welch's, B-Ball, etc).

I have purchased juices, bread, eggs, milk, oil, seasonings, flour, chips, potatoes, some veggies , and you cant go wrong with that. I do save much more by getting things there than in the store. Love tht place. You will pay for your bags, which are reusable. Worth a tour!

Yes I do go there for some things. For the most part I love ACME or ShopRite. Anyway, Aldi has good stuff, bags of frozen meats, green peppers, cereal, milk, eggs, apple sauce, pastas, ziplock bags, etc. Some certain name brand stuff though I'd rather get at ACME though. Also, the cart system is pretty awesome imo. It keeps the parking lot clean and the carts in order. You have to insert a quarter to release a cart, and when you put it back, you get your quarter back. They ring you up kinda funny too. They just scan it all and place in it the previous person cart and they take your for the next person. You have to buy bags or bring your own. You should go and check it out, you will def save $ going there!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
