OOT Bag Budget

Recommended Posts

We're only having about a dozen guests, and I was hoping to keep it under $100, but thats not likely to happen. I'm avoiding the little trinkets in lieu of a few items that could be lifesavers and may be forgotten/not though about, i.e. biodegradable sunblock (required at some sea parks in the Riveria Maya and they can charge on the upwards of $30/bottle down there), aloe vera gel, bug spray, cooling chapstick....

My goal is to avoid having to personally cart down more stuff than necessary and then giving guest more crap to cart back home with them.

We set a max. budget of $25 per bag. I have kept to that. I ordered the basic canvas totes from cheaptotes.com and got the iron-on transfer paper to put our monograms on them. I like them! They won't be super full, but there are just so many things to buy that I'm glad I've put a lid on this. :)

I couldn't even tell you how much I spent on my bags.... I just bought the things I really wanted to make sure to incorporate in them... I had 9 bags including 3 kids bags... but it was all well worth it on however much I spent...

MAKE SURE..... if you have kids coming with you to bring sand toys for the beach!! Our resort we stayed at ... charged us 23 a bag of toys in the gift shop, which normally at home would be like 8 bucks...

Mine are pretty low in cost so far. I have about 15 bags and will end up spending little over $100. I don't want them to be too big because I am going to have a ton of luggage with my dress, chapel length veil and ttd. Plus I am knitting the bags myself to keep the cost down and making a lot of my own things to go in them..anklets ect...

I am budgeting $25 max per bag and buying stuff for 30 bags. I bought handwoven tote bags for just under $5 each (including shipping) and will bring down monogram labels to attach instead of doing an iron-on or monogrammed bag. I just got my shipment of totes from Welcome to Ailana Kai (a website I found thanks to searching this forum) and I love them!!

Saraece - that's such a great idea! I think I have one of those drug store cards somewhere...maybe it's time to put it to use!

I haven't really gotten to the OOT bags yet...so no idea what our budget is. But this thread is very helpful for giving me an idea of what to expect! Thanks Ladies :)

We dont really have a "budget" for our OOT bags. What i am doing is if i find a bargin i will buy 30 of the item. we still have about 8 months so i am buying thing slowly so its not such a big hit to our wedding buget. I am not even noticing 30 dollars here or there so I like how this is working. It is working for us. Good luck

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
