Hi there! We just got married there a couple of weeks ago and it was amazing! We dealt with Faith before though so not sure about the new WC, but they will go over everything with you once you get there anyway so try not to worry. The resort is excellent and I am sure you will have fun. I wrote a review but if you have any other questions shoot away!

Can anybody tell me if they will include the reception dinner with the AIa t the EDR? I have been dealing with a resort who would not let us eat or drink with the AI for the reception dinner. Needless to say, we are on the search for a new resort. Also, I notice their package prices are for up to 30 people for the weddings... how much do they charge for more than that? Any information would be helpful.... Thanks so much!

No, you read it right. I guess I found out thought that you can eat at a restaurant for your reception dinner and use the AI, but it won't be private.

They will charge for a private event. The other resort I was dealing with would not even let us do that. They wanted us to even pay for the drinks... coffee, soda even.

Whats the resort, if you don't mind my asking..

Ya, you can have your dinner there and no it won't be private - but if you don't pay the amount of $$ for the reception (whatever that fee might be) you're also not guaranteed that you will sit together either. They'll seat all of you where a table is free. IMHO, Unless you have an incredibly small guest list (like, table size - 5ish!) then I don't see why you would want to do this. It's too much stress to try to get everyone to sit together and it's not as personal. If you've got a small group though, then it doesn't really matter - it would be pointless to rent out the space for a reception!

It was Fiesta Americana Condesa- I absolutely love this hotel, but it didn't work with our budget. We were all going to book AI- it typically is E... but then they wouldn't let us eat or drink there after the wedding for the recpetion without paying a "per person" rate which was about 75.00 per person. Which for those taking a 3 day trip, it really wouldn't be worth the AI for them since 2 days were traveling out of the 3. But they wanted the entire group to book one way or the other, AI or E... does this make sense?

The E plan is expensive, since an average breakfast is 25.00, and drinks range from $5-$15... so, my second choice has always been EDR. I feel like I am starting over! I have been negotiating prices with them for months, and now it is not going to work....

Hi there! Congratulations on finding your wedding location - that's the toughest part! That's why I haven't been on this site for so long - now that I have the location picked, I'm slacking, but NEED to get back to it again! I'm going to be getting married there on April 23, 2008. So far, I've only ever heard positive things about getting married there. I hope it holds up for me, too!

We were married at the EDR about a month ago, and though we didn't pay extra for the private reception we did have a wonderful dinner at the resort. Our wedding dinner was at El Cocotal restaurant and in our pre-wedding talk with the onsite co-ordinator we got to pick out which menu we wanted and when we got there the had little menu's all printed out with our names on and stuff. It was cute! We didn't really notice everyone else in the restaurant and though we only had 15 guests with us, they did sit us all on one table and our cake was beside us so not much difference than a private reception other than the first dance stuff, guess it depends what your priorities are really? Hope this helps a bit, sorry I didn't reply sooner!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
