Hi!

Im getting married at the ROR 28th November 2009! I would love to hear from any other UK brides to be. I have booked my holiday package with Thomson, but booked my wedding directly through the Riu website. This was to ensure that I could get the wedding time I wanted which is 4pm.

I was wondering how you other brides are transporting your dress?

As I have not booked the Thomson wedding package I usure if I would beable to carry my dress on board

Hi im getting marriede at the ROR but not till feb 2010!! although i went to a wedding at ROR in Dec 07 which made us change our minds on a wet and windy UK wedding!!

we are booking our wdding on Sat through thomsons Y did you not book your wedding package with them just for the time?? is it hard to get what you want through thomsons!

My cousin got extra luggage and put her dress on as an extra case in the hold?? i will probably do the same!

be good to hear back from you! not many other UK Brides??

Hi I'm getting married at the Riu OR on the 3rd April 09, like yourselves we have booked the holiday thru Thomson but booked the wedding package with the hotel direct.

As for bringing my dress on board I am going to see how big it is folded & I may buy a box from the Empty box company (The Empty Box Company)

If you need any more information, feel free to ask!

hi it took Thomsons 2 weeks to confirm the date, they then forward to you the booklet which basically just states what the package includes. I found most info out from here ,I have booked Seagrape for reception, with Chandlyn. I also requested a time of 4pm for ceremony which was ok'd by chandlyn as Thomsons only give you a date and state time is agreed at resort, I wanted a time.

Hi All!

Its great to hear from other UK brides to be.

The reason I chose to book my wedding direct with the hotel, is because I was aware that Thomson can only have one wedding a day at the resort, and I needed a specific date and time, which you can do through the website

1) You also get a faster response through the hotels website.

2) There are alot more wedding packages on offer than through Thomson

3) You don't have to make a payment till you arrive at the hotel

Heres the link to the website, just click on weddings by Riu

Thanks for the ideas on how to carry the DRESS on the plane, im definately going to look into all options

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
