I found some reviews online regarding the swim out rooms,,,,.........they do say that the water is very very cold. and due to you being on the ground floor its pretty noisy.

So I will skip the swim out........so now I am ponding Ocean View room I have to the Ocean Front View.......... i will have to ask my travel agent, but she has given me wrong info before, she told me that the swim outs connect to the larger pools............I always do my own research and that is NOT the case.

I am currently wondering about ribbons for my chairs..................my package says I get covered chairs........but I am guessing i would have to pay $5 per ribbon on each chairs...........really???.............

Hello All!!

This is my first post, but I have been watching this thread for sometime! My parents are doing a site visit the first weekend in December and I want to get a list of things for them to look at, take pictures of..etc. So..I would love some suggestions on what I should have my parents look for/take pictures of. If you are a new bride and want information on something imparticular..tell me. I am sure I probably would want to know the same thing!! So once my parents get back I can fill everyone in.

Also, I have SO much time to plan. my wedding wont be until 4/20/2012. So, I would love to read any and all reviews from recent weddings from now until then. I can't seem to find recent ones on this site. A little help with that would be great!!

Nemmerz--

I am with you, I had orginally wanted a swim-out but after reading the reviews of how cold they are, and lack of use. I decided I want an ocean view, top floor. A private little tub outside sounds more than romantic enough for me!!

I ALSO had a questions about the ribbons/chair covers. I was hoping they would do the ribbons for free if I decided that I didn't want covers but just the ribbon. Hopefully I can work that out. I am also not against sending stuff down there a few weeks/couple of months before the wedding and decorating myself/ having bridesmaids/ groomsmens do it. Anyone do that???

That leads me to the question.. do they charge for "decorating" even though the materials are already purchased??

Thanks in advance for any help!!

Hey SM Bride,

Welcome to the forum, this place is super informative and addicting......LOL welcome.gif.

I cant really think of any pics I may want,..........I have researched SM to death and have so many pics of the rooms from YOUTUBE and the wedding locations.

I think the beach location could use a lil........sumthin' sumthin', but I am already over budget so I am gonna try and take my own ribbons for over the chair covers........at another hotel they sold large bags of rose pedals for $15...i was wondering if i could do that and have some color and I approach the ARCH on the beach.............(GABI - what do you think?).

SMBride, is you read thru this entire thread you will see many detailed reviews on the resort, you just have to go backwards, maybe start at page 20 and just read what everyone has to say, there are many reviews on here if you go back in time.........

Hi GABI,

I had never realized what a booming business is getting married in mexico..........

I concerned that the resort gets overwhelmed with 3 weddings a day, per day while you are at the resort.........dont guests get tired of seeing brides walking all over the place the entire time........LOL

I wanted to ask Cecilia if I can bring my own Tulle to add color to the ARCH and chairs??  I know there is a $5 per chair charge, but I will only have 6 to 8 people and can easily put some tulle in our suitcases and my mom and place them..........is that allowed??

I must have misread the "extras" section, I did not see BAGS of roses?  I wanted to add some color as I walk down the sand...........I have also seen at some other resorts, greenery line the aisle up to the ARCH.  I just NEED some color on the BEACH....grouphug.gif

Thanks GABI,

I do have faith in Cecilia, I aint getting married till May so Im not very important right now, plus I dont have any demands.....LOL.......its just US and 6 other people, No private reception, or music or bonfires or anything.....just simple..I guess I just have to show up.....I am gonna do my hair myself and I dont have a bridal party..........Sounds pretty simple huh??

I get more concerned about the resort and making sure everything they say it is.

What building is closest to the ocean that you can suggest staying in??

Did you get to do any excursions??

I am having trouble finding a photographer too, they are all booked.

Congrats again.

Hi! thanks so much - it was really great. Yes, you have tons of time so don't stress at all - try and enjoy the holidays.

Our building (26) was very close to the beach and pool - it was a Preferred Club building and all of those are closer to the beach and pool. I know the honeymoon suites and presidential suites are amazing - one couple we had stayed in one and it was pretty incredible.

We didn't do any excursions but on our mini-moon when we went to Zoetry a few days later, we did a sunset sail which was nice.

Good luck and happy planning!

Hello!  I have a question about shipping to the resort.  I've read other reviews that recommend FedEx, and Cecilia recommended I ship any items a month in advance of the wedding.

So, my question is this:  Some others have said that if you ship items from Nature (ex/ seashells), they can get "stuck" in Customs.  Well I don't have seashells to send but I do have Palm Leaf Clutch Bags that will be used for the welcome bags - here is a link if you are interested:  http://www.blissweddingsmarket.com/store/000334.htm  Certainly these qualify as being from "nature" so I'm just trying to figure out the best way to get them down there.  Should I just pack an extra suitcase for them?  Or do I face the same issue with Customs if I do that?  Do I just need to plan for more time to ship because they are from Nature?

Also any other tips & tricks you can offer for shipping is welcomed.

Thank you in advance for your help...it is much appreciated!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
