Secrets Maroma Brides
Posted 19 September 2015 - 05:31 AM
This forum has been 1000% helpful, especially for a last minute planner bride such as myself. Thank you for sharing all of your experiences and feedback.
My wedding is this December 6th with already 80+ RSVP's. YIkes!
I have two questions for the brides here:
1. For any of the brides who chose the video package from the Ultimate Package, were you happy with what your received?
I'm thinking of not going with the in-house photographers but rather consider the videographers. However i wanted to see some of their work and how the brides feedback on the work was.
2. For the decor, i'm thinking of bringing some stuff like the chinese lanterns/globes - i feel like the lighting could lack a little especially if you're by the pool. Does anyone have any feedback as to how much lighting to buy? Or any feedback on the lighting as a whole?
Appreciate any responses.
All the best,

Question for you ladies- how is your planning going? My fiancé and I put a deposit on the venue but have struggled to get the real decor and contract planning in action as Cecilia has been very difficult for us to reach: Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated!
Also, majority of my guests are finding secrets to be too expensive to stay at and are planning on low budget resorts. Are you guys struggling with this too?

Planning, what planning??? LOL I've been so busy with work and our engagement ceremony (an elaborate traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony) that I haven't done anything for the wedding. I've both my dress, but need to lose weight soon so I can fit into to (against everyone's advice, I bought it for my ideal weight!).
Cecilia is really hard to get a hold of, just keep emailing. That's what I do. She eventually responds after a week or so. Every bride here, on the Cancun FB page, and my own friend who got married at Maroma last year, will assure you that most of the details is confirma s when you arrive and for some magical reason, they pull it off.
And yes, a few of our guests wants to stay off resort. I'm was really bothered by that, but eventually decided that I can't tell people how to spend their money. But then what's upsetting now is that 80% of your guests have to stay T Secrets. And we're right around 80% (we have 6 friends already wanting to stay off the resort with 40 total guests).
Let me know if you have any other questions or if you want to brain storm decor ideas. Lord knows I need to start. Also, if you want to reuse some of my decor (I plan to bring things like chargers, candles, sashes etc). We can split cost and I'll have already hauled it down there. You can choose to bring it back or just toss (it'll still be cheaper to toss compared to renting!).

Our wedding was on July 18, 2015 and I'm finally getting around to write reviews now. This website and page was so helpful for me while I was planning! Here is a link to our photographer's Facebook album of our wedding at SMB. I hope it helps some of you who are in the planning process get an idea of how amazingly beautiful and perfect this resort is for your wedding day!!!
Our photographer is a our AMAZINGLY talented friend Dave! He travels all over the world to shoot weddings and events. He loves doing destinations if you're looking for a photographer!
