Did you guys get a sweetheart table? I have a small party and rather sit with everyone in a table rather than just us two. I was wondering If I can switch the floral piece on the sweetheart table to the ceremonial table.

Thank you so much Lola TX!  8 to 10 does sound like great timing.  We were debating doing it at 5, but then I feel like that is kind of awkward after.  Okay, have drinks & appetizers, now everyone go have dinner on your own.  I don't know.  So later in the evening might be a better idea.  I am trying to include timing in my invitation suite so that people know when to arrive by.  Just cocktails by the fire would lower the cost too!! Great to know that the lighting is included!

Hi lorcas!  Did Cecilia send you the packet and you are just looking for additional pictures?  There are a lot of fabulous ladies on this forum who have posted pics of their weddings after.  I know that there re a lot of pages, but you can look back through this thread and see a lot of options.  If you need the packet let me know and I can email it to you (I'm not sure b/c it's so big that it would post on here).

I'm not sure which packet but I didn't receive anything with pictures. Can you please email the packet? I'll message you my email.

I'll look back into the thread as well. I have looked at the photographers that have taken SMB weddings to get an idea of the locations as well :)

      Thanks!

YES, they can absolutely do that. They will pretty much do whatever you request. I used my florals from the beach ceremony, to the reception as the centerpieces. A great way to save $$!

Did you use the lanterns in their package? It looks lovely! It's kind of what I have in mind, but they are kind of pricey!

If I remember correctly, all of the bonfires begin at 8pm. There will be several set up on the beach and cecelia will be there to direct you and guests to the correct one. We all enjoyed that. Our guests still talk about it. We did a welcome bonfire 2 days before our wedding instead of the night before.

As for the coctail hour, I agree with Cri, it provides a nice time for your guests while you are doing photos. Our guests enjoyed the cocktail hour and the mariachi trio.

Other than those things, we were very basic on the decor in order to cut costs. We didn't order extra flowers or decorations. I brought most of mine from home. Once we arrived at the resort and had our meeting with cecilia and the DJ manager, we decided to extend our reception for 2 hours. We were really glad we did. Everyone had such a great time and we danced all night.

CriCri, we did not go back to SMB. We want to though!!! We ended up going to Cancun to a different resort with some friends before our anniversary. But to celebrate our anniversary we went to southern California.

Hello all!! I've been on this website for days now reading and pouring over all the posts on this thread. My fiancĀ© and I are getting married at SMB on May 17th, 2014 and right now it feels sooooo far away!! We've confirmed the date with Cecilia (after some contact issues, thank goodness for travel agent persuasion) and now I'm left with the uncomfortable decision of hounding Cecilia for details early on or sitting back and contacting her beginning of next year. Seems as though the common view is that things will start coming together the few months prior to the wedding. I guess my perfectionist trait is not enjoying sitting twiddling my thumbs until then. Haha. Anyone suggest any specifics be ironed out now as opposed to in a few months? I have already requested the beach for ceremony and cocktail hour, as well as the gazebo terrace for the dinner. Do I have to print, sign, and email her back each time she updates the contract? Everyone's wedding looks so beautiful. I am counting down the days with far too much anticipation!!

We are getting married May 16, 2014!!! We have got the date set and signed the contract but have not done anything else yet. We are going in a few weeks and actually meeting with Cecilia and our Travel Agent, so hopefully I will find out more and get everything taken care of then. I know we are wanting to do the beach ceremony, but not 100% on where we want the cocktail hour and reception. I know you are counting down the days and so am I, it can't get here quick enough!
