After the dinner, I have written a note in a piece of paper with the numbers of the rooms of my guests.

All of them has received, during the night , one flower arrangments in the room.

Thanks for the tip!!  I would have never thought to ask the Florist.  I assumed he would be long gone by the time the ceremony was over.  I was hoping to be able to use the ceremony decor at the reception.  It turned out beautiful!!

That is a great idea since you paid for the flowers it is less wasteful to reuse them.  Who delivered the flowers to your guests?  Was  there a fee?

Hello all, I have been neglecting our blog!  So sorry.  Overwhelmed.  Leaving for the wedding in less than a month and still no first song and a few other loose ends too...

Like menus are you ladies planning on going to any trouble with guest menus for reception dinner?

Wow, amberh1884...  I'm so glad I'm not the only one getting frustrated with this!!  And I, too, believe mine's gonna turn into a dang free for all - oh well, we do what we can, right??  :)   I just hope that those who may choose not to stay at SMB with us won't start bit**ing when the time comes to pay the fee to get on the grounds... we shall see.  I'm to the point where I'm just gonna put all the info out there and let them decide.  I mean, seriously, we've got our own issues to deal with!!  LOL  Thanks for sharing your thoughts!!

I have had the same problem and we have solved in this way:

- Cecilia fixed my date "as a tentative", this means that she has considered booked the date and the time for the wedding  for 1 week

- in this week I have had the time to book the flight and the rooms, then I confimed the reservation and I payed the first quote

After the payment and the reservation you have all the time to choose all the  details.

Thanks CriCri!!  I will do that!!  :)  :)

I would email her and let her know you are ready to pay your deposit and that you want to confirm that this date/time and this location is available during that time for your wedding/reception. If she tells you that that is reserved for you (they will reserve it for 7 days I think, until they get your deposit) then that's what you need. After she gets your deposit, she will email you the contract soon after. At that point, I would book my trip. At least that is how we did it. It took us about a week to get the deposit and first contract. Others may have different experiences.

As far as Cecilia, you should just keep in mind that it's Mexico, it's the beach, and it's a resort so it's all laid back. They don't really have a reason to rush to respond to emails. She is seriously running the whole wedding thing down there. She will get back to you usually within a few days and if a few days go by, just send another email. She is very nice and very helpful, just not in a hurry to respond to emails. She is also very good at what she does so you don't have to worry about anything. When I was at the resort, I called her several times and she always got right back to me if I left her a vm.

Something that I did when I needed to contact her was basically to write out a list of questions. I would number them and she would respond to all of them in a different color under each question. That way you can email only once and get many answers.

Now we're talking!!  Thanks for the advice, beachbride2013!!  That info makes me less nervous, for sure!!  rolleyes.gif  I'll get right on that.  idea.gif

I feel so presumptuous asking this, is anyone having a card collection area/gift area on table at their reception??  I am assuming I wont get any gifts such as in a traditional wedding because my guests are spending so much money to get there, but I just though I'd get your opinions on this.

It's a good question, but we're not going to.  We're telling people not to bring gifts.  Even if a few bring cards, I don't think our group is big enough to warrant a special area.  We're having a party at home afterwards so if they want to give us gifts, they can do it there.

I agree with KCDawn. We did not have a special area and nobody brought us gifts (Thank goodness bc we wouldn't want to have to bring extra stuff back to the states). The people who brought cards just handed them to us the day after the wedding.  We had a few people ask us before we left what they should do with our gift and we just asked them not to bring anything to Mexico.

At the reception, there will be a table with your guestbook (if you are bringing one) and there will be room on that table if anyone brings anything.

When the waiters after the dinner were removing the floral arrangments I have asked to have them in my room and in my guests rooms.

They say: "Yes for sute, the flowers are yours"!

During the night, the congieres have delivered the flowers free of charge.

In my room they knocked the door as soon as I arrived, to my parents they have put them in the secrets box in order to not disturb.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
