I read through all 92 pages of this thread and I found that some brides weren't happy with their hair or makeup. Also I was thinking I really wanted airbrush makeup. Airbrush makeup last about 16 hours. I had this done for my engagement pics and I loved it. Also just from reading other reviews from other hotels it's seems like a mix of other resort spas as well as Secrets. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=29.980761,-95.182898

I am trying to pick a photographer - I am trying to decide between Juan Navarro and Claudia Rodriguez.. any thoughts?

Has anyone used the resort DJ? - any thoughts on that?

Has anyone had their reception on the beach?? I have not seen a lot of people on here talk about a reception on the beach..

Hope to hear from you ladies soon : )

My FI and I are almost officially booked! I just need to send Cecelia the cc info for deposit tomorrow. We have our flights and rooms booked now though!

I really would like to do the airbrush. I haven't looked into the cost of that, or where to do it at. Hmmmm...I just don't know. I went and looked at ideas for centerpieces tonight. I am pretty sure I am going to do my own. Does anyone know if there are any centerpieces for the tables at the cocktail hour that are included? Or do they need to be purchased from the hotel. I was a little confused by that.

@brideRN- We are looking at using Juan also. I emailed him yesterday. We def need to upgrade our package from what is included though. I looked at his site, and I love his photos. we are trying to figure out which package we would upgrade to.

We aren't using a DJ though, just the sound equipment.

@beachbride2013...The styling Trio is who i've been in contact with to maybe do my hair and makeup, they also do air brush makeup.

www.stylingtriorivieramaya.com  I'm not sure about the centerpieces for the tables at the cocktail hour, I think they just put candles out..  I love Juan's pictures..and are also going to upgrade his package.  I would ideally like him there a little before the wedding starts to maybe right before the reception ends.  So like 6 hours I guess?

Hi fellow brides.  We are getting married at SMB May 2012!  Are your guests all staying at the resort?  Or are some guests finding outside accommodations and coming just on the day of the wedding?  From the responses we have been getting, I think everyone is finding outside accommodations.  It makes it hard figuring out which wedding package to get.  Also, we will need to get a day pass for guests not staying at the resort to attend the wedding.  Does anyone have experience with how that works?  Excited, but starting to run into some headaches of a destination wedding. =T

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
