No worries. If you only have 2 hours though you do sorta have to rush there... for us we stopped by the boats, then there is a wooden structure, then a cuddle on the beach...so it all depends too on how many pics you are taking while walking. On that note... we feel really blessed in that we were able to have a very long photo session on our wedding day (4 photo shoots in total!!), but still felt very rushed! The resort photographer although in my opinion very cookie cutter! with a nice camera can get that one or two shots that you wanted in case you feel like you run out of time - as we felt. We actually ended up getting 36 from the resort photographer - ha ha! We just went in our regular clothes and walked along the beach, went into the water, checked out that wooden structure (its half way between the hacienda and edge of the beach, as you walk by you will know what I am referring to), hacienda, etc... It was just a gorgous afternoon so we did 3 to 5:30 (I am told we took twice as long as most sessions, but I dont think they minded as we got 36 pics). But just to kinda give you an idea of time.

Hi I would say definitely check what the sunset times are! We got married in November 19th (and my birthday is May 19th so you picked a great day!) anyhow, sunset time was roughly 5:15 so I was hoping for 3. We were only able to do it at 2, but we started late as well, some 15 or 20 minutes I believe and were go go go before run out of light, but we also did have to spend some considerable time with family pics which you wont have to. Most photographers I believe will say that it is the 30 min. before and 30 min. after sunset that is the golden hour. On the SMB side of Mexico however sun sets very quick (you will not see the traditional sunset, it will just get dark) for the beautiful glow of the sun, you have to wake up to see the sun rise on the SMB side.. In any case I would figure out the sunset time on your day first off (I had a link somewhere not sure where it is now to sunset times, let me know if you cant locate it yourself quickly) and go backwards from there in terms of how much time your ceremony will be, account for things running late, and then how much photography you want. Hope that sorta helps

REALLY?  YOU HAVE TO RUSH THERE?  oh crap!!..lol

The FI does not want to take much time for pics, so the 2 hours is ceremony 3 to 330, post ceremony 330 to 350, 350 to 400 walk to the hacienda, 4 to 430 pics at hacienda, 430 5 pics in ocean to respresent a mini TTD session.

Does that seem unreasonable?

My photographers say it can be done!

You think they are hoping i will buy more time???

Most important pics are the hacienda and ocean pics, maybe skip the post ceremony pics then, I really dont want any traditional pics....I want out of the box pics....

You have me thinking.........hhmmmm?

sorry I hate to mess with peoples plans - for me though we had our ceremony planned for 2 (we started a bit after) and dinner reception didnt start till 6 and I felt rushed. But maybe it just me. I think it also depends on what your expectation is, how much variety and locations you want... The only complete set of pictures we have is a splurge just because session with the resort photographer, if you like send me an email if youlike and I will let you to know how to view them - might give you an idea of what you can get in that 2 or so hours...

congrats!!

can't wait to see your review!!

my question is.....  did you use the spa to get your hair/make up done and how was it!  I am pretty sure I am going to do my own make up but not so confident doing my own hair!

and....did you have your ceremony on the beach.  was it private enough?  how did you decorate the ceremony venue (and was this much extra$$$)

thank you!!!

hope married life is GREAT!! cheer2.gif

I used the spa to do my hair but not my make up. I am not talented enough to style my own hair the way I knew I had wanted it. The stylists were great. My two bridesmaids, my mother and myself all had our hair done and they all loved it. I can try to find out the names of the two stylists that we used. You just have to make sure that really explain what you want to them or bring a picture for them to work off of. Once I explained to her what I wanted she did exactly what I had hoped for.

The ceremony is held in front of building 27, if you are looking at the beach is on the right side of the resort. Its usually pretty quiet on that side. There is nothing to the right of Secrets Maroma. The staff clears out all of the chairs and everything from the four palapas closet to the ceremony. I felt like it was very private. We had a couple onlookers but they stayed far enough away you didnt even notice they were there. Included in the ceremony is the white linens, white chairs, white aisle runner with seashells, and a white drapped table. We didn't add anything to it. We wanted to keep it simple and natural like the beach. We had our sand ceremony vases on the ceremony table and placed fans on each guests chair. It was simple and beautiful. Some girls decorated with flowers but we didnt feel it was necessary.

Married life is great! Let me know if you have any more questions! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
