Are wedding is in two weeks. FYI- we are bringing our own ipod down for the rehearsal and cermony that are both at the gazebo. I am being charged $180 for the cermony and $150 per hour X3 for the reception. talk about a rip off.

I totally agree.  Plus the 11% tax on top of that!! I had my FI buy me an Ipod dock for my birthday so we could bring our own haha

2 weeks! You must be so excited, hope you'll let us know how it goes :)

We love our photographers! I would suggest bringing al photog if you can afford them. Longer term relationship and they will actually get to know you guys :) definitely contact them and let them know that Tito and Alana referred you :) good luck and keep in touch. I also posted a full review

I know the sound tech is expensive, but it's worth it. Depending on the wind and other noise at the resort, you may not be able to hear the music. We had 63 guests, so we had to have it. If your group is smaller, you might be ok. And DJ Mannia's dj team is awesome!!

That is a rip off..............really??..Geez!!

Have you looked into renting out the equipment from outside the resort?

I have heard a few brides on here mention that?

But its getting pretty close for you though

I am super excited for you.

My people are starting to book now.

have you gotten much of a discount for having so many people in your group??

If you utilize an outside vendor, they charge you a fee.

If you utilize a travel agent (I used Cheryl Wilson at Destination Weddings) they will work the best deal possible.

Good luck!

I didn't book a Swim Out room but when I got married on the beach I walked on the patios of all the swim out rooms in building 27. There were a bunch of ladies sitting out on their patios that I had parade in front of. I'm sure their privacy is much greater at night...when no brides are walking around. We booked an Ocean View room and I'm glad we did. We were on the second floor of building 17. We considered booking a Swim Out room but were glad didn't in the end. I never saw anyone use theirs the whole time we were there. We used the regular pool and the ocean.

    • The cooking method can double the calorie content of a meal, so learn about healthy cooking without having to add extra fats, like using a steamer,  a rotisserie , a slow cooker , a pressure cooker, a grill. Once you cook your own meals, you can control the calorie content because your control the cooking method and all the ingredients. A lot of people are overweight because they keep eating food that they did not cook.
    • I have stayed at Dreams La Romana and Dreams Dominicus.  The two resorts are very different in style and decor. A few comparison points are below and fact sheets are attached for both.   Both resorts are approx 45 minutes from Punta Cana airport, close proximity to Saona Island, Catalina Island and Altos de Chavon. Top championship golf courses in the Caribbean are just minutes away including Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore, The Links and La Estancia – all designed by world-famous Pete Dye. Restaurants are similar at both resorts.  Both offer the Explorers Club for Kids.  Dreams Dominicus  Brand new resort and in 2016 488 rooms (however additional construction was underway) More contemporary style & decor Good beach area Rooms were very nice Preferred Club located in main lobby and adjacent to main pool & beach front Food was good Center plaza area with nighttime entertainment Main lobby is small, but outdoor bar off lobby is nice Dreams La Romana Originally built in 2003 & opened as Dreams La Romana in 2008 756 rooms Recently renovated and new preferred club adults only lounge & pool added  Rooms are more traditional Caribbean decor Grounds are very lush and tropical Good beach area food was good    Dreams Dominicus fact sheet.pdf Dreams La Romana fact sheet.pdf
    • My sister has done it but with the destination wedding, only super close family members and friends came since it was expensive and farther. It was great though.
