I am getting married at SMB May 16, 2014 and we have only pick out our locations and times for things for now.  My travel agent has helped me get in touch with Cecilia a lot. I have noticed if I CC my TA she gets back super quick.  I have some info on the wedding locations and ceremony set ups if you would like I can email them to you.  We were just there in July and met a couple that was getting married there that weekend. She did not get all her details finished up till the week of the wedding.

We are just doing the symbolic ceremony and getting legally married at home in Texas. I was not about to let someone poke me with a needle in Mexico. lol

I have a date on hold for secrets maroma and have to book this week or I will loose. Ilet a reservation go for turks and caicos because we decided costs would just be too much for guests and preferred an adults only resort anyway. I have not had luck connecting with the WC and have only been communicating with a travel agent so far. my TA was actually there last week! This is one of the only resorts that will do a legal wedding on our preferred date which falls on a Sunday.  we are also waiting to hear confirmation that loc cabos marquis would do a legal sunday as well and will book asap.

This site has been helpful all around, but can any of you share a timeline or detailed process of the planing and arrangements with the WC?  I'm also interested in getting more specifics on costs, if you don't mind sharing please- looking for info about budget,  xtras, any add ons, also, are you able to change the menu options at all? what is your total like so far?

also, the civil process and making it legal there. What was the blood test process like there? I am sooo nervous about? did you have to go off site?  were you able to do it at the resort? I read conflicting info on secrets site about how many days you must be there 3 business days not including day of travel but also saw 4??

Any other advice, tips info would be great!

Does anyone have photos of the reception venues and options for actual set up that you can share?

Thanks!

Thank you so much for the pictures!  I've been wondering about what this is going to look like myself!  I am getting married on November 7th at SMB.  We already have our time and location taken care of, but our wedding coordinator Valeria told us we would get the fine details taken care of 30 days before.  Now you have given me some visuals to work with!  Thanks again!

Hi All thahnksgor sharing thephotos!! am planing a wedding for June 2014. It will be a legal wedding! Does anyone know if having a minister as opposed to the judge is an option? So far Ive only been communicating via my travel agent. I should be booking today!!! When I first started my venue search a year ago, my grom and I said absolutely no to Mexico because of the legal requirements- blood test and all! We knew we wanted a legal wedding/ ceremony done all @ once and mexico seems to have the nices resorts. I searched all over the carribbean! But in the end, the resort seems to have most of what we want for our wedding! most importantly the Sunday date we wanted! This review was very helpful thanks! And thanks for everyone's input

Good Morning Ladies!!!  Two months from today I will be walking down the aisle!!!  eek!!!!  I CANNOT WAIT!!!   I am waiting for Cecilia to respond and that is a bit frustrating.  I put off discussing decisions that I made a while ago with her until closer to the wedding thinking that she would respond more quickly.  I was wrong, FYI, discuss things as you go.  BUT  either way we will end up married in the end so whatever!

Ok, but my real question is what did previous brides do about people who did not send their RSVP's?  I am astounded at the number of people who have not sent their RSVP or even submitted one online.  At this point the hotel is sold out for our wedding date (another note to future brides, if you are getting married around a holiday let people know that they MUST book early or they will not have a room!  We have at least 5 guests who didn't book early enough and now are scrambling to figure it out).  I assume that the people who have not RSVP'd are not coming, but should I reach out to them to confirm?  Is it rude to reach out?  A lot that didn't RSVP are my FI family and I really don't want to be the neurotic new in-law.  :-)  Would love opinions.

Thanks!

I've been quoted the following group rate for secrets Maroma; and am wondering your thoughts, average, high? etc. are these group rates negotiable at all? Has anyone negotiated their rates? What are the pros and cons in comparison to guests booking elsewhere on line? 4 nights $975.00 per person double occupancy 7 nights $1650.00 per person double occupancy Ocean View 4 nights $1020.00 per person double occupancy 7 nights $1725.00 per person double occupancy Junior Suite Swim Out 4 nights $1060.00 per person double occupancy 7 nights $1800.00 per person double occupancy Preferred Club Honeymoon Suite 4 nights $1865.00 per person double occupancy 7 nights $3210.00 per person double occupancy

    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
