But I just need to relax and get to one thing at a time.  If Cecelia wants a date, then a date it is!!  :)  I appreciated you answering my questions - it definitely makes me feel better!!  Thanks beachbride2013!!

Be sure to also confirm your ceremony and reception location as well as times. Most brides want the reception at the wedding gazebo and if another bride snatches it up first then you are out of luck. That is what happened to me. I told her in my request I wanted it there, but it did not happen because I thought that was enough. I needed to have the contract done, so I would tell her the date and time you want and also the location. Then when she sends you the first contract be sure to sign it and send it back.

Hi Jen, I would have to say that the DJ was not cheesy at all. I was also worried about this bc I have seen some cheesy DJ's here in the states at weddings and parties. He spoke to us privately right before the reception (introduction of us and bridal party to guests). He talked us through everything privately and did a great job making announcements like the cake cutting, first dance, etc. Def not cheesy or corny. I thought he was really cool and just seemed really comfortable and confident with what he was doing. Def very professional and dressed in all black with slacks, dress shoes, and a jacket too. They played perfect music for the dinner and right after dinner, he had every single guest dancing and we danced all night. He didn't play anything like the chicken dance or hokey pokey and he sounded great when he spoke. It was so much fun!

Thanks BeachBride!  Do you remember his name?  I think I'd like to ask for him if we decide to go with a DJ as he sounds great!

What is the order that I should do things?  I cannot/will not book a trip until I know I can have my date/times... then again, I'm afraid to book the wedding date and not be able to get a trip together... this is absolutely driving me crazy.  I feel like I have no help whatsoever and cannot get answers. UGH!!  How long does it take Cecelia to get a contract ready to sign??  Will she continue to be vague and not answer any of my questions??  I need to get her input, as I cannot visit for myself until the week of -- I really need answers from her, that is just it...  Sorry for such a downer post, but I'm starting to freak and I don't even have a secured date at my wedding site!!  Do you think if I expressed our need to book a trip in the next few weeks, that she would get a contract to me ASAP?  Thanks!

Msop04- My Fiance's mom and her sister are staying at the Catalonia Priveleged because it is the closest resort to Secrets Maroma and she wanted to be able to walk there when she needs to because she is afraid to take a taxi, lol.  I honestly don't know where everyone else is staying.  I know that is weird, but all the people that didn't book at Secrets ended up being my fiance's friends and I have no clue.  I also have no clue exactly how many of them are coming.  I am getting a little frustrated.  I feel like the wedding is turning into a free for all.  It definitely is not what I imagined, I thought every person was going to stay at Secrets and we were all going to get to hang out the whole time.  But, I guess it was not meant to be.  On the other hand though, that will definitely mean that we will have the last of the trip to ourselves as our honeymoon and I was worried about that at the beginning too!  If I were you, I would pin down the date first.  Put out feelers to your close family and friends about your tentative date and see that they all would be able to do it mostly.  That is what I did.  Once, you get the date set then you can book it on expedia no problem.  I found expedia to be the cheapest too!  Only thing is, you need to make sure that if you are doing the "complementary ceremony" where you get it for free for having so many nights in a preferred club swimout our having 5 rooms with double occupancy that you book through a site that actually says that it honors the "free wedding" on the booking page.  Expedia's did not so we had to book through Delta Vacations then Delta price matched the expedia price.  It was kinda complicated, lol.  But, if you are not doing the complentary one you don't have to worry about all that mess!

Ckrn- Your wedding was absolutley beautiful and so were you!! Congratulations :)

Yes, it's the gazebo.

I have askes to Marvin (the florist) to move all the flowers from the canopy to the gazebo.

The centerpiece in the table, 1 poles hanging over the cake table and one in the opposite, the 8 flowers arrangment that were on the sides of the aisle have been placed in the 8 side of the gazebo.

After the dinner, I have written a note in a piece of paper with the numbers of the rooms of my guests.

All of them has received, during the night , one flower arrangments in the room.

It was so fun, and i've only seen the two teaser pictures, but I can't wait.  It was another excuse to get into my dress, and it was a great memory to cherish.

I wanted have TTD but my fiancè didn't want because he thought to destroid the dress.

Were you able to dry/clean the dress before leaving?

CKD, will you receive the small video besides the long one?

I have asked to have a shorter version (similar as the viddeo we can see in their web side) to show to my friends but he asked me more money :-(

I thought it was included

Msop04,

I have had the same problem and we have solved in this way:

- Cecilia fixed my date "as a tentative", this means that she has considered booked the date and the time for the wedding  for 1 week

- in this week I have had the time to book the flight and the rooms, then I confimed the reservation and I payed the first quote

After the payment and the reservation you have all the time to choose all the  details.

I would email her and let her know you are ready to pay your deposit and that you want to confirm that this date/time and this location is available during that time for your wedding/reception. If she tells you that that is reserved for you (they will reserve it for 7 days I think, until they get your deposit) then that's what you need. After she gets your deposit, she will email you the contract soon after. At that point, I would book my trip. At least that is how we did it. It took us about a week to get the deposit and first contract. Others may have different experiences.

As far as Cecilia, you should just keep in mind that it's Mexico, it's the beach, and it's a resort so it's all laid back. They don't really have a reason to rush to respond to emails. She is seriously running the whole wedding thing down there. She will get back to you usually within a few days and if a few days go by, just send another email. She is very nice and very helpful, just not in a hurry to respond to emails. She is also very good at what she does so you don't have to worry about anything. When I was at the resort, I called her several times and she always got right back to me if I left her a vm.

Something that I did when I needed to contact her was basically to write out a list of questions. I would number them and she would respond to all of them in a different color under each question. That way you can email only once and get many answers.

Before booking all my rooms trought a web site (for me otel.com was cheapest then expedia) I have asked to Cecilia if i could have the Complimentaty wedding using the web site for my reservation.

She answered me that it was possible and after booking I have sent the reservation voucher to her in order to identify it.

Just to know, at the end I have switched from the Complimentary wedding to Ultimate because I wanted private cocktail, private dinner , photographer , mariachi, hair style and make up, etc...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
