I'm pretty sure you're referring to the Gazebo Terrace.  That's where we're having our reception!

Which location is this? Is it the Gazebo terrace? The pool terrace? or the seaside terrace? I'm so confused as to which one is which. Can someone please clarify?

Is Gazebo terrace, the "wedding gazebo" ?

Do you know if it's possible take the wedding dress on the plane with us and not with the baggages?

I agree.  The pictures by the pool is called the Gazebo Terrace.  We are having our reception by the pool and using the Gazebo as our dance floor.

I am a bit confused by pool terrace though.  Maybe that is the same thing?

Seaside terrace is definitely some place else.  Does anyone have pictures of the Seaside terrace so we can see what the difference is?

I know exactly how you feel about "blowing our budget".  We've gone way past as well.  We decided to go with the Ultimate Wedding package because of the number of guests we have - 42.  Basically, I think if you have more than 10 people attending, it makes sense to do either the Secrets of Love (Silver menu) or Ultimate Wedding package (Gold menu).  We opt'd for the Ultimate Wedding because if we are already jumping from complimentary to $2k for the Wedding package, might as well pick the Gold menu with some extras.  We hope to negotiate better with the Ultimate Package also.

If they are going to charge per chair sash, I will have someone from my family tie them. I'm not going to pay $2 per bow. We have already blown our budge by several thousand dollars.

I also read that you would need to double the amount of sashes because they will not transfer the bows from the ceremony to the reception because of time. So maybe this has changed, but I am planning on doubling up on my sashes because of this. I would not want to risk it if you think there is a chance that Cecilia could be misunderstanding what you are asking.

I have also read that they DO charge quite a bit to set up lanterns because they have an outside company do it or something like that. So even if you bring your own, they still charge a significant amount (if not the same amount). I would check with Cecilia to be sure but I think someone posted something about this recently.

I ordered the colored maracas from a company called almos here in the states. I don't know if they ship internationally. I did not ask the wedding planner anything about them.

I guess what I am wanting is the Gazebo terrace. I was looking through the wedding guide on the secrets website and was getting confused as to which is which.

I talked to FI during dinner and he doesn't really think we need to do pomanders for the ceremony. He thinks plain is fine. lol We still have some time to think about it, I just have no idea how they decorate it, if at all. I think if it is just the white tule, it still looks beautiful.

@Annieweds-I agree. We originally were going to do the free wedding and then went up to the next one, and then up again! We are having less than 30 people. We are still waiting for some RSVP's, but it could be 30 including us. I liked the fact that it had the music trio and a few of the other things.

Does anyone know who the resort DJ is? We are thinking about booking the DJ, but wanted to see who it was.

Have you girls seen this??  Valeria sent it to my travel agent when we were finalizing the contract and reserving locations for the ceremony & reception.  Hopefully it will answer your location questions.  If you need me to email it, let me know....or just pay the $30.  It's totally worth it!

I asked Cecilia about bringing my own chair sashes and decor. She responded by telling her staff can decorate for you, but they do charge $2 per item . .  at that cost, you might as well rent the decor through them, right?!?!?!?!  I still plan to bring my own sashes, linens, and minimal decor, but I plan to pre-designate set up duties to my family and bridal party!

I also asked if they recycle the chairs used in the ceremony for the reception, and she said yes.  Can anyone else confirm that too? I hope I wasnt confusing her . . I was really trying to figure out if I need to bring DOUBLE the amount of chair sashes . .or if they just move the ceremony chairs to the reception area.

I have ordered the chinese lanterns also, which is outrageous in price, but I think in the long run worth it. I love the way they look!! Cecilia did confirm that they are lit up as well.

I have also confirmed that the photographer for my wedding in October is Juan Navarro . .I am specifically requesting Juan (or taking advice if you gals know of any of his associates that are especially good). If not, I may do an outside vendor. I already contacted Elizabeth Medina, and they are booked :(!. I need to make decisions on this asap!!!

As for ceremony and reception decor . .  I have been in contact with the florist the resort uses and they have been pretty good so far. The pricing still seems high to me, but I am looking to do ceremony aisle decor that can then translate into my reception centerpieces. I want to attatch a photo of what I am envisioning, but I dont know how... Can amyone help me?

I really do not want to travel with any more items, I already feel so stressed just thinking about it, LOL!

What are you ladies planning on doing for ceremony and reception decor? I am looking at approximately 8 tables, and I am imagining a magical, beachy, lit up feel. I want lots of sparkle and candlelight.  I will most likely bring my own voltives (or probably LED tea lights) to help enhance this look.

Does anyone know if you will still need to rent a dance floor if you use the seaside terrace??? I think I may see if I can change my location for recpetion to the gazebo. How 'private' is the reception by the gazebo if it is from 6-9pm???

I am not sure what decor is included in ultimate package. I have differing answers, and want to know also.  I am having the beach ceremony and am hoping at least the white canopy is inlcuded . .but not certain. I read 'natrual' centerpieces . . .but am clueless what that means too. Does anyone have any advice or pictures of this?? Thanks!!

Please tell me about your shipping of items. I have read several places (and talked to a previous bride who shipped to her wedding in Cabo), of unsuccessful experiences with shipping. Are you planning to do anything different in regards to shipping. I would love to ship some items, but am scared of customs confiscating items, or holding them too long.

I have a feeling that there really isn't much included. I haven't thought about how the ceremony arch will be decorated. I guess I should think about that now.

I'm shipping my OOT bags, sashes, and centerpieces down there. I will send the stuff back with some of my guests and myself and just get it from them when we get back home. I was thinking about leaving my centerpieces down there so I don't have to deal with it, but if they are going to charge me to set them up, then I am bringing them back!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
