Hi everyone! New to the site but planning my wedding for 1/10/2015 at SMB! Does anyone have pictures they could share of the different reception locations?? I've seen some pictures here and there of one or two places but not sure which ones they are by name and I believe there several others that I haven't seen. Thanks!

Hi! Has anyone had, or is anyone having, a daytime wedding at SM? I'm wondering what to do for entertainment. I'm considering having a DJ for the lunch reception, but some of our guests seemed hesitant to dance during the day, so we're thinking of saving that for night time at the bon fire or something. Any suggestions and ideas will be greatly appreciated!!!

Hello Secrets Maroma brides! Congrats on your upcoming weddings! :) This post is for any brides interested in affordable unique decor for your big day.

I'm a newlywed from Vancouver, Canada that lives down here in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. I have quite a few decor items leftover from our wedding in May, mostly in a rustic vintage style. I've decided to rent things out to brides that don't want to lug things like vases & mason jars down here to Mexico, and have priced things quite fairly compared to the resorts' prices. A lot of these items are also very hard to find down here, and many brides have been happy to find my collection of wedding decor.

I have a lots of different types of bottles, mason jars, vases and lanterns, as well as a variety of other items like wooden signs & frames, table runners, rustic birdcages, string lighting and even a portable sound system.

If you want a Style Me Pretty or Ruffled type of wedding in Mexico without a huge price tag, I'm your gal! So far no one has had to pay an outside vendor fee at all, as they tell their WC that they have brought the decor themselves. I'm also always interested in buying items that brides bring down and would like to sell after their weddings, please send me photos of anything you'd like to sell!

If you'd like to see some photos and a price list, please send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you all the info. Also if anyone has any questions about the area, ask away! I've lived in Playa Del Carmen for two years and know the whole coast quite well. Happy planning ladies!

Here's a couple of photos of some items we used in our wedding and that are for rent, but I have lots more:

Hello Maroma Brides!

I recently stayed at Secrets Maroma and met with Cecilia.  What an amazing resort!  They have weddings pretty much everyday which is why it can take Cecilia a couple of days to respond.  But you are definitely in great hands with her!  Let me know if you have any questions I can assist you with.

Both were amazing locations.  Definitely one of the prettiest gazebos I have seen.

Yay! My wedding is at the gazebo. So pretty, it almost doesn't need any additional decor! :)

Thanks!

Hello brides! I have just booked my wedding at SMB for Novermber 10th, 2014! I am so excited. I have some questions if anyone has any answers from their expreiences that would be great! I was wondering if anyone has used a JAMBOX for their wedding here instead of renting the sound system. I just can't fathom spending like $800 to rent the sound system for the reception and ceremony. If you have used it, did it work well? Could everyone hear okay?

Also, I have seen some postings from brides that substituted things they didn't in their package and put that cost towards something else, is this something you did ahead of time or when you got there?

Thanks everyone! Hope to hear some feedback!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
