I didn't have any trouble with the dress, it travelled with me in the flight, the company was British Airways.

As regard the sand ceremony, you have to take with you the bottle, the 2 vases (o something similar) and the colored sand, otherwise you can ask to the wedding planner to take them for you but she will charge and you will not be sure you will like the design of the vases.

My program was very simple, only the name, the date and time of the ceremony, the cocktail and the dinner.

I had legal ceremony + sand + hand ceremony

Happy planning and let us know when you came back home!

Do you know if there are other ceremonies in these days? The SMB posts here the forum aren't very frequented whilest last year we were a lot of future brides ...

Congratulations K3nelson!!  You are soo close!!!  I'm sure it's going to be beautiful!!!

1. Have you looked at this post?  http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/16710/post-your-ceremony-program

2. I haven't had my wedding yet, but I've done extensive research in this department and here is the advice I was given.  Try to be among the first to board the plane. When the call "those with children or who will need extra time" line up.  You will need extra time :-) Then once on board you can very sweetly ask the flight attendants to put your dress in the closet at the front of the plane (given it is a big enough plane that they have a closet) if they can't or won't then put it in the overhead compartment above your seats and close it.  Most people won't open the compartment if it's closed and if someone does, just explain that it is your wedding dress and it is very important that it not be mushed or wrinkled.  My friend just had her destination wedding with a rather poofy dress and she said she had no problem with asking the flight attendants and they were more than happy to oblige.  Most people will be so excited for you and won't give you a hard time. I have one friend who said she spread her dress out over 4 seats in the waiting area before they boarded and people didn't give her a hard time, so I'm sure on the plane they won't.

Best Wishes!!!  And please let us know how it all goes and any advice after you get back!!!!

Hello,

I am new to this and couldn't figure out how to do a new post. lol

My wedding date is July 27, 2013. Its getting closer and I feel so lost. Does anyone know the time frame in which Valeria contacts you for the planning. Also, after reading these post I feel overwhelmed and have a couple of questions. Do the coordinators give you options on the decorations. I see that most of you all took your own decorations?

Hi Steph,

Have you not heard from her at all or already started planning but not heard from her in 2 months? How many guest are planning to attend? So far I only have 10 confirmed and was thinking of not doing a reception. I feel like its a waste of money for only 10 guest .

If you ask your wedding coordinator to have decorations options she will send you the list of optional items (they have a pdf file with all the extra items: candels, petals, flowers, ...)

As regards the flowers I suggest you to ask directly to mayan floral to discuss with them regarding your requests (direct contact it much more better then  by the wedding coordinator)

Happy planning!

I had only 10 guests (included us), at the beginning I thought not having the private reception but at the end I decided to have the complete packet with cocktail, reception, mariachi, pictures and video.

It's the best decision I have taken regarding the wedding, believe me!

In case you don't want any items included in the packet, you can ask to change for others you need. For example I have exchanged the massages for the hair style and make up trial, I have changed the boutoniere and mini-bouquet for canopy flowers decorations....

You have the possibility to adjust the packet for the service that you prefere!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
