Hello ladies!  My wedding is on December 6th and I have been checking the weather frantically trying to assess the whole rain situation....it looks like rain is in the forecast almost every day over the next couple of weeks!!  EEK!  Cecilia keeps mentioning "backup plans" but then doesn't specify.  Does anyone know what she's talking about?  Anyone else getting married in early December and freaking out like I am?!

If it will rain, you can make the ceremony and the dinner inside. For the dinner, you can use the restaurant that is close in the day of your wedding.

Each restaurant has a day off and in case of rain you can use it.

More questions from me...

  • Anyone had purchased/seen the "COOL FIREWORK"?  it's optional for $280.50, not sure how long would it last or if it worth the price...We had originally purchased the real fireworks package. It was approx 5 seconds for almost $800, but I didnt care because I love real fireworks. The day before the wedding, Cecilia informed me they could not get the permit to do the real fireworks, but they would subsitute with the cold fireworks package. I was pretty upset about it, especially since I had this in my contract since February, but what could I do at this point, right? The cold fireworks turned out very nice though, and a lot cheaper. I am posting a photo with them, from our first dance together.
  • Lighting at the Gazebo area.  Not sure if there's enough light for dinner reception there? We upgraded to the 30 lanterns, but there were also other lights put up also. PLENTY of light! However, I dont know how it looks without the lanterns. BUT, I do know they do everything to make it look great, so I am sure there is plenty of standard pole lighting included.
  • "Lightings for tables is $40 each"... anyone had done that... please send me picture for reference. We did not do this, but I would if I did it again! I brought my own submersible LED lights for the floral centerpieces that Mayan Floral added for me, but they did not illuminate as much as I wanted them too. I added  a photo...perhaps if you used mulitple would work better.
  • or my another option is "Pole with 12 white round lamps" for $200 (lpls send me picture if you had this b4) Sorry, I can not help with this one :(
  • Cocktail hours will be on the beach... do you know if there will be seating provided on the site? Ours was not on the beach, cant help here either. But I do know they set up cocktail (high) tables!

thanks.....funkydoll

Depends on how large your party is . . .Cecilia showed us our 'backup plan'. It was the use of one of their ballroom areas, which was very fancy and nice. She did not even mention using a restaurant, maybe because we had 45 people?!?!? I am not sure. Maybe you should clarify that with her. Once you arrive she will show you all the locations too :)! It will all be fine, I promise!! Even when it did rain down there, it lasted so briefly. I pray for sunny skies for ya'll!

So as long as the weather holds out we are having the ceremony on the beach, cocktail hour on the beach and reception at the gazebo.

Flat sandals the entire night - I'm bringing 3 pairs and will probably decide the day of;).  I rented the petate aisle (it looks like wicker) - anyone know if you can actually walk in heels on that thing?  My sister and mom want to wear heels down the aisle so I'm thinking I might have to go with the wood aisle instead?

Hair and makeup by Norma (MAC artist) and a hairstylist who's name I am unsure of.

Photographer - Fine Arts Studio, Videographers - Moho Creations

55 guests in total

menu - no idea yet but we're sticking with the gold menu - any advice?

flowers and decor rented from Planner 1 Events and Mayan Floral - wood tables with matching tiffany chairs, lanterns and lots of battery operated candles - pretty simple.

Hmmm...those are the main details I think.

If anyone has any final words of advice please send them my way!  I leave this Sunday.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
