As promised, here are scans of my pre-travel brochure.  I took most of it from another bride on this site.  I ordered them through Vista Print. The quality is good.  I did them a little early because my Groupon was expiring but I'm happy with them! Hope it helps!

Hi Dsr, I think it depends on your hair. I wanted to wear mine down but I got married at the end of May and at 3:00 pm. I knew it would be a bad idea. It ended up pouring down rain about 2-3 hours before the ceremony and stayed humid for a long time after. I think if your hair does okay in the humidity then you would be fine, but it does get very humid and hot. I would suggest doing a trial if you are considering wearing it down, that way you can see how it does in the weather there. Good luck, your day is right around the corner!!

Hi all!  My FI and I are getting married at SMB on 11/16/2013. That seems like it's so far away, but we really couldn't do it any sooner due to prior engagements.  So far I've been dealing with Valeria as the WC for the resort and she seems to be okay... not really answering many of my questions, but I can understand since my date is over a year away.

I'm sure I'll be asking lots of questions. :)   Thank you in advance to all you girls for the help and advice in the months (many, many months) to come!

These are wonderful.  Thank you so much, KC; they will be very helpful so we can give our guests the same information.  I like that you made them into brochures, that's a really cute idea!

My guests are dropping like flies :( I know I read a post somewhere with a very small wedding and the reception was actually dinner at one of the restaurants. Does anyone know what page that is on? Right now I have the ultimate package and I have Juan as my photographer for 5 hours. I'm thinking that I might have to lessen the photo package and cancel the reception. I would just have a private small dinner and dancing later that night at the Desires club. Has anyone had a large package and then changed to a smaller one?

That sucks that your guest count is dropping. :(  I wouldn't think it would be a problem for the resort to amend your package as they seem to be pretty accommodating.  How far are you into your planning?  Your wedding is pretty far away, so I'm guessing you won't have a hard time revising anything.

Right now the planning is pretty much on hold. I have the Gazeebo reserved for the wedding and reception and the photographer booked. I haven't picked the menu or decided on a DJ or really anything else. I haven't ordered anything yet for the OOT bags. I have a little bit over 2 months until the wedding. I just sent Cecilia an email asking how much time I have to decide if I need to change it or not. I feel guilty for holding on to the reception location, there is another wedding that day and she may want it, who knows. My RSVP date is September 15th. I hope I'll have a better idea then.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
