I am newly engaged (as of last Friday) and my fiance and I know that we want a destination wedding.  We have been talking to Cecilia for the last couple of weeks and think we are going to be married on May 3rd, 2013.  I am very nervous to be working with a wedding planner so far away and also about how much the resort will cost our guests, it seems like they can't provide an actual figure until closer to our date.  It just makes it hard to let our guests know how much to save up!  Excited I found this thread though, any other Maroma Brides for May 2013?

And, you wont really know the actuall cost til the actual date . .just have to budget as you go with the upgrades, etc!!!! I am bringing alot of stuff myself (overlays, napkins, sashes) because it is ending up cheaper and I am very picky on colors, etc.

I like very much the arraingments that they have prepared for my wedding.

Plannrer1 is more for forniture rental, linens, overlays, lighting, dance floor. I have the price list if you need it.

Cri,

Would you send me the price list for Maya Floral?  I have no idea what to expect... better prepare myself now!  :)

Thanks!

Hey girlie!  That's really not too bad -- does that include shipping and setup?  Did they say that it would be long enough and stretch all the way across the back?  (since the new beach pergola is larger)

Are you using the new beach setup (the larger one)?  If so, would you hang the curtain on the back panel or on either side and leave the back open?  Just wanting some opinions!  Hope your planning is still going well!

Cri, did you pay extra for the flowers & fabric (draped on the wood) in this photo or were they included in the package?
It seems the more I read about the Ultimate Package, the less it actually includes...  I'm so confused -- and my budget is getting out of control expensive!!  UGH!!

Just FYI for those who are curious. The minister in the video above is the same who did our wedding. Those vows are the vows that are provided by the hotel. I think they are really nice. She asked the groom before hand if we wanted religious, not religious, etc.

Also, the DJ they used is the resort DJ I think. It is so much fun getting married at Secrets. I loved it so much and am wanting to go back!!!

Who is the minister in this video?  I have been told to use Roxanna, because she speaks English and doesn't need a translator...

Out of curiosity, which vows were used in the video, religious or not religious?  My FI and I aren't very religious, but would like some mention of God...  Do you know where I can find the scripts?

Hi!

I think the minister in the video is Roxanna. Maybe someone can verify that for me. She did speak English and no translator was needed. I think that most of the ministers in Mexico will probably speak English (at least in the Cancun/PDC resort area).

The vows used were just the vows that the resort usually uses. The minister asked the groom before the ceremony began how religious we wanted it. He sort of said the same thing that you described. Not overly religious, but just a little. It was very sweet and nice. To get the vows, just email Cecilia and she will send them to you. I don't have them anymore. The translation is not great, but when the minister said them they were fine.

This was the quote planner 1 gave me for them setting up just a back curtain of their own . . . without tying it back . .hanging down.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
