KC: I asked Cecilia for Roxanne (the woman in the video) to be our officiant. We have already corresponded via email and began to build our ceremony! I was referred to use her by Cassie, who got married there in May! Helps me breath a bit, since we are having an interfaith marriage, and I was worried about whom would be officiating our ceremony!

That's what I want to do, but my spa apt isn't until 2 and my girls at 3.... so, they won't be ready until 4 neither will I (they allow for 2 hrs)  then the wedding is at 5:30.

So.....

I guess we wouldn't have any "getting ready" pics together right? Pics in the room of the MOH helping me dress etc.

I def. wanted to take pics in the mansion (not that the photographer knows that yet LOL

and do most/all couples shots before hand, but not sure how long that takes either!

When are you getting married KCDawn?

I'm a little envious! You are going to have a great time!!!

thanks so much for the info, very helpful:)

Nicc, just talk to Cecilia (or Valeria) when you meet with her. She will help you determine what to do and what time the photographer should be there based on what you want. You will be able to make changes when you meet with her to go over your contract. We had 5 hours of photography which did not allow time for photos of getting hair and make-up done, but did allow time for photos of dress, jewelry, eating and drinking before putting dress on and also zipping the dress. They also had time to go the grooms room and get photos of them getting ready. Cecilia helped us to decide that they should come 30 minutes early for that and she arranged it with no problem.

We also did not talk to the photographer before hand about the mansion. I think it just depends on how long you have the photography for.

Thanks Lola!  I am getting so excited.  I can't believe we are leaving in 2 weeks.  I got my chair sashes, fans, and bubbles in yesterday.  I was very happy to see that the chair sashes are going to be very compact and fit in one of my suitcases without taking up much room, because I was worried about it.  For the brides that have already gotten married, did any of you go to the disco at SMB?  I was just wondering what it was like because that is where we were planning on going after dinner.  Thanks! Amber

Hey, I did not go to the disco except for just to check it out (walked in and walked out). I don't think it opens til 10:00 or 10:30. It's usually busier than discos at other all inclusives I have been to. It was nice, just really loud like a club. Y'all should have a great time. A lot of my guests spent several nights at the disco.

I'm thinking about getting maracas but my Internet search isn't coming up with many options.  Where did everyone get theirs from?

I puchased mine online from Amols.com. I ordered large maracas. They sent some medium ones in the box too but I just used them. I didn't send them back or anything.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
