A small curiousity ... for anyone has been to the resort.  How do we pay for things that are extra?  Like special wines, spa appts... etc?

Is linked to your room key?  Do they accept cash?

I do have some questions for brides that have already married or are really close

Did you buy special carry cases for your wedding dresses?

Did you print off special menues?  If so, did you now what you were eating ahead of time?

Do you ladies think the bride or Maid need a bag/clutch for reception?  I am thinking no

Thanks for all your help so far!

Hi Nicc80.

I had a white dress bag to carry my dress. It was $10 from David's Bridal. I have read not to use any color other than white, as it can stain your dress.

I made special menus for the reception and brought them to Mexico. I planned the menu and let Cecilia know before we went to Mexico. It took me a full day to make the menus.

One of m bridesmaids had a clutch for the reception. It was small, had some lip gloss, safety pins, bobby pins, and I think that is it.

They will ask you for your room number and you will pay upon checkout. Not sure about the spa. I can't remember if I paid the spa directly or not. I am sure they accept cash but they do not always have change. I remember them printing out a receipt that I signed, but not sure if it was a cc receipt or not.

We are doing a symbolic ceremony. However, I want to write our own ceremony. What has been your experiences with this please? I am Jewish and my fiance is Christian, so we wanted to incorporate a very small portion to represent each of our faiths.  I havent emailed Cecillia yet, but I am really hoping to be able to be in contact with who will be performing our ceremony to discuss this further.

Any advice, or suggestions?

I had a Legal ceremony but I have asked to include also 2 symbolic ceremony, the sand and the hand ceremony.

I have sent to Cecilia what I wanted in the 2 ceremony ans she gave them to the Judge so I'm sure there will not be any problem to performing the ceremony as you prefere.

Just to give you an idea, the order of my ceremony has been:

- Legal mexican vows

- Signing documents for the widness

- Sand ceremony

- Hand ceremony

- Ring ceremony

- Signing documents for us

- Final declaration

Duration 25 minutes

I payed the extra with credit card before leaving the resort. I received the total amount in my room the day before.

For my long trip I wasn't sure to be able to carry with me my wedding dress because the size was more then the accepted as hand bag.

For this reason I have put it inside an "hands suits", folded up in 4 parts :-(

As soon as I was on the plane, I have asked to the hostess to open it and hang somewhere. She allowed me to hang it in their private wardrobe.

As regards the menu, I have decided it 1 month before but I have confirmed it only when Cecilia aked me 1 week before going.

I have printed it and they set up on the table.

The reason I didn't want taste the menu was because I wasn't able to change the printed menu ;-)

We are doing a Symbolic ceremony as well.  We are writing vows... my fiancé really wants to speak from the heart. I am a little nervous about this... I suggest asking your planner who to go about it.  I have no idea how long/short to make it, but I hear the ceremony is short.  I will let you know if I find out anything else.  Do you have any specific questions about it?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
