I suggest you to use canopy on the beach. If you choose the 5.00 pm,  people are leaving the beach and you will not have a lot of people around you.

The beach canopy is on the right side of the resort in the direction of the forest, after the lay down area.  The wedding coodinator doesn't allow people stay too much near the canopy.

I have seen Cecilia more then one time asking to the people walking on the seaside, to pass behind the canopy and not of forehead.

Thank you for sharing your pics Annie!  You had a beautiful wedding!!

Cri and Beachbride - Thanks for your input on the beach ceremony.  I thought we had that part settled but I'm really liking the beach setup.  I'm just not sure I want to give up my heels yet.  :-)  Did you see any weddings at the gazebo?  What were your opinions?  Was the privacy any better/worse there?  Thanks!

Hi CriCri,

It was so great to meet you and person, you and your husband look very cute together. You are right, I did luck out on the weather, it was gorgeous, but at least it was nice and cool on your wedding day, I was sweating bullets the whole time :P I wish you guys all the best! Happy wife, happy life.

Hi Jenn,

We used both the resort's decor and paid extra for items from an outside vendor (who was also referred by the resort). Everything was from the resort except for ceremony aisle runner, latterns during the reception, and flowers. I would say though, if you have more than 40 guests I would suggest  using an outside vendor for the cake, because our cake was so tiny.. :(

Hope that helps! :D

@KCDawn, I did not see a ceremony take place anywhere other than the beach. I would not recommend doing a ceremony at the gazebo unless it is at 5:00 or later. You will have much less privacy there bc it is right at the pool near the pool bar and near the showers coming from the beach. The pool and beach pretty much clear out at 5ish. If it's earlier than that, I would avoid it. The beach is much more private imo.

Two quick things that I thought about:

1. Be sure all of your male guests bring long pants. They will not be allowed in any restaurants during their stay with out them! We had a few people who did not take that seriously and only brought shorts. The pants in the gift shop are quite pricey!

2. Be sure that if you are requiring people who are not staying a the resort to pay the $100 entrance fee that they KNOW about it. We told our 2 guests about it several times but when they arrived at the resort they were suddenly clueless and extremely angry about it! They (the guests) called my husband from the front desk and were livid. It's just not something that you want to deal with that day or have to worry about.

I have just upload some other pictures regarding my  flower arrangments on the beach.

Write me in private to receive the link.

Cristina, your ceremony set up is absolutely beautiful!  I love your choice of colors against the sand and ocean.  Sorry we didn't get to see it in person.  Husband and I were being good hosts and spending time with each guest before they left.  It really is unforgettable.  We were so nervous preparing, but in the end it all worked out and that's how I know everyone else will have an amazing wedding as well.

I have been in the resort 2 weeks and I have seen at least 7 weddings but all of them were on the beach.

The gazebo is near the pool so I think that the privacy is the same as the beach. It's a question of time, 5 o'clock it is still sunned but many guests go away  from the beach (I don't know the reason, I remained up to the 7)

I have seen a lot of dinner reception in the wedding gazebo and surronding area, also my wedding dinner has been under the gazebo and it's a very suggestive and reserved, nobody passes.

I have noticed your aisle, it was beautiful and I have asked to Cecilia if it could be an option also for us. She told me it hasn't been provided by them.

I was worried about to stumble on the sand but the day of the wedding, being rained, sand was compact and hard ;-)

As it regards the cake,  it was very simple, only one level (but much more then enough for 10 people) , it was white with a small decoration.

For us the cake wasn't an important item also because, before the wedding cake we had eaten a Mango Napoleon dessert and it was fantastic!

If some of you, future bride, the cake it's an important detail, ask to Cecilia to upgrade it but remember, the wedding menu included one more dessert.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
