@beachbride2013 - I've read some past posts that the name of the DJ is DJ Mannia.  Any other ladies out there know if he/she is the only resort DJ?  I can't imagine he/she is because how does it work when there are 2 or 3 dinner receptions a night?

Speaking of which, has anyone heard how many weddings SMB has at the same time per day?  What if they run out of DJ's and photographers and videographers?  Oh boy, we didn't really think about this until now.  Does anyone know?

I talked to FI during dinner and he doesn't really think we need to do pomanders for the ceremony. He thinks plain is fine. lol We still have some time to think about it, I just have no idea how they decorate it, if at all. I think if it is just the white tule, it still looks beautiful.

@Annieweds-I agree. We originally were going to do the free wedding and then went up to the next one, and then up again! We are having less than 30 people. We are still waiting for some RSVP's, but it could be 30 including us. I liked the fact that it had the music trio and a few of the other things.

Does anyone know who the resort DJ is? We are thinking about booking the DJ, but wanted to see who it was.

They only have one at a time.  There are three time slots - 8 am, 12 pm, and 4 pm.  So, max there are three weddings per day, but only one at a time.

Hi ladies! I am getting married October 20!! We are doing the ultimate package - ceremony on beach and reception at gazebo terrace. We are using Juan and the resort DJ (Ismael Rojas - anyone heard of him??). I also got an outside company to come in (at no extra charge) called LOVE THE BOOTH - they do the fun photobooth pictures for a few hours at the reception. I also have Juan booked for a few days after the wedding for a trash the dress session - anyone have any opinions on this???

How are you ladies planning on wearing your hair?!?! I would like to do a half up but i am wondering with the wind and heat if I should just have it ALL up?? WHAT DO YOU THINK??

THANKS : )

Another Fall bride!!  Yay!!!  We're also doing the Ultimate Package and using Juan for our photos.  I'd love to do a trash the dress session but I'm not sure we'll be able to.  I've seen some of Juan's trash the dress pics and they're great.  We're using an ipod for the reception and buying a portable bose system to take with us.  The photobooth idea sounds great!!  We are getting an instant camera and using that for our guest book.  I'm wearing my hair all up, but I would have done that no matter where the wedding.  My hair just doesn't look that great half up.  Everyone's hair is different, but it will be hot and humid so that's definitely a consideration.  You could look at the websites for photographers in Cancun/PDC to see pictures of brides and how a lot of girls wear their hair.

They also do a 3:00 pm (mine is at 3) and they do an 11:00 am as well because that time was also available. Maybe they switch times depending on what day of the week, or what the first person to choose that day wants.

@KCDawn/beachbride2012:  Thanks for the information.  But what about the dinner reception?  If someone has their wedding ceremony in the morning or afternoon, that can still mean all 3 weddings can have their dinner reception on the same night.  I guess if the dinner reception is around the Pool area - Gazebo Terrace, Poolside Terrace, Barracuda Terrace - then the wedding receptions will not be so "private".  And it will be first come first serve for booking the indoor reception areas I suppose.

@brideRN:  The photobooth idea sounds great!  We actually saw that option too from Cecilia.  But I'm not sure if it is in our budget. =(  We are also thinking of using an instant camera for our guest photos like KCDawn.

I could be totally wrong on this but my understanding is that your reception follows the ceremony.  We have the 4 pm slot so I didn't question it.  That would definitely be something to ask Valeria or Cecilia.

HI New bride

I prefere have my hair wrapped up because my hair is long and I don't want it in front of my face during the wedding and I would like  have an orderly hair style for all the day.

I will use the SMB spa for it but I haven't seen any of their works so I'm a little bit worried about it...

I will probably have a private reception despite we will be a small group.

Can you help me tho chose the best location for it? I'm note sure where is the best lplace for a small group

- gazebo terrace (near or inside wedding gazebo )

- barracuda terrace

- beach

Do you have any idea or pictures?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
