Have a great time! & yes please keep us all posted on the outside florist situation.  You should find out if they will charge you an additional vendor fee for that, or if the florists could just drop off the flowers.  Also, find out if they will charge you a set up fee.

We are still in the early stages & I asked about bringing in our own decor - really just some colorful flags that you see at Mexican celebrations known as 'papel picado' (kind of like those banners you see at fairs) - they are fairly inexpensive but when I asked if we could bring that in, Cecilia said it would be an $80 set up fee!  sheesh - so we won't be bringing that unfortunately.  So now I am looking to dress up the day with flowers.

I will also be doing a site visit in July so keep that in mind ladies if you need any additional questions answered.

How exciting!  Have a great time!  Definitely look forward to hearing about your florist experience.  SMB prices are pretty high for bouquets.

Today I'm doing my hair/ makeup trial with Adrian from the styling trio, then meeting a florist from Playa Del Carmen, tomorrow I meet with Cecilia at 11 and we also meet with the DJ and the photographer. I'm also going to talk with the florists there. In trying to figure out if it's cheaper to use an outside vendor. So excited!!

That's exactly why we chose a destination wedding too.  Well, one of the reasons. :)  But with all these options, it's turning out to be quite a bit amount of work.  But it will be fun in the end and so glad for everyone's input in the forum.

I am in the exact same situation.  My sister will be under 18 by just a few months. So I've emailed Cecilia and she is working with the General Manager to see if an exception can be made only because 1) she is the sister of the bride and 2) she is under 18 only by a few months.  She does look old enough so we are hoping with all these valid reasons, an exception can be made.  You should definitely try asking since she is the Groom's sister.

My travel agent said that most of the time they don't check age if you look old enough. Does anyone know anything about this or the check-in process? Do they ask for your passport or just the person who the room is registered to?

Thanks so much for the advice. I definitely will ask if they will make an exception, please keep updated if you get an answer from Cecilia.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
