For anyone of you who were visiting or have gotten married at SMB during Halloween time, do they do any type of costume party?

I was dissappointed the other day when I realized we were going to not be home for Halloween, and then I thought! How cool would it be for them to host a huge halloween party!

If no one knows, I am going to ask Valeria and see if she knows anything this far in advance. She says I won't get the list of events going on the week we are there for another few weeks.

Thanks Everyone!! cheesy.gif

Congrats Emsdds! I'm getting married there May 12th! How did your site visit go? Did you do any activities(like snorkeling or site seeing) while you were there?

Hey! I am getting married 10/28/11. We are getting the Ultimate wedding package, and we are using Juan Navvaro.

I was unsure if I wanted to use him at first because of all of the stories about him not giving you the full disc of pictures, and saving the really good ones for the "bait and switch" after the wedding. I ended up emailing him and tell him I didn't want any printed pictures, I just wanted the full disc (or two) of every single picture he takes of us with all reprinting rights, with zero logos on the actual picture. (I had a problem with our pictures for the legal ceremony here in the states having logos on them..and NO they were NOT proofs!!)

The package value for the photographer comes out to be just over $700. So, I am using that resort credit for something else (flowers for the ceremony most likely) and paying Juan directly. Will have him for five hours and get every picture he takes for around $1,100. Which I thought was a good deal considering some girls pay the 700 then pay another 800 for the disc with all of the pictures. ( And that isn't for five hours, that is only for a two hours)

Hope this helped you ladies :)

Thanks for the info! We are using Juan also, and just wanted a disc with all the photos. We dont want to carry a bunch of pics in the airport when we come home. We are just using the complementry package and just wanted a photographer for 2 hours. We are having a very small wedding, so we don't need all those extras. I'm going to email Juan to see how much he would charge us.

Congrats on the wedding. It's coming up very soon :)

Thank you! It is coming up quick!! Five weeks from tomorrow we say "I do" in front of our closest friends and family!

I have been planning this wedding for almost two years! So I am SO ready for it to be here!!

Still have to decide on centerpieces and my bouqet..and finish and  print the welcome booklets!

Other than that. Everything is done!

I can't wait to post my planning thread, that will mean it is here cheesy.gif We leave on October 24th!!

No! I sure don't! I guess since he is recommended by the resort, they will not charge me to use him. I was afraid I would lose that credit ($724) because I am paying him directly, but she said its not a problem and I can use that alloted money for something else! So it all worked out really great!

I know Cancun Video does the wedding video, but I haven't heard about them pulling any shady stuff at the end, so I am leaving that portion of the package the same.

I am still back and forth between havnig the maricahi band during the cocktail hour, or just having music playing, and use that money for something else as well.

I am thinking most of the money will go towards flowers, centerpeices, and the beach bonfire the night before the wedding.

I am sure all of these decisions will be made once I am down there and can see a total cost and what she can work with me on. I am ALL about bartering, and it is usually done best in person! So I am ok with waiting on the small details until we are down there, so I can save myself as much money as possible!! idea.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
