Just had our wedding on Friday 7/15/11 (25 Guests)

* Beach Bonfire rehearsal dinner

* Wedding on the beach

* Cocktails on the beach

* Reception at the poolside gazebo

 

ALL AWESOME! I will do a full write up soon....

 

Few suggestions - Do the romantic dinner on the beach ($250 but you can ask for a $100 off coupon...books up fast so make the reservation), For the cost of a bottle of wine you can dine ON the pool (Awesome!), Cecilia is awesome but she is running the show down there so be patient with her...she will impress you!

For those of you that has been to SMB already, I have a question. I keep reading on trip advisor that there are iguanas and coatimundi 's on the resort. And they come up to you while you are eating outside. Is this true? Did you find this to be a problem?

yes they have a few that live around the pool in the rocks and 2 of them are pretty big. They are tame and will just sit and look at you IF you eat at the tables near their rocks. They don't venture out of that area and they don't bother you. Its like a puppy dog begging for food but thier begging is just a blank look! They are cute....the birds on the other hand! They swoop in and eat what they can find and don't seem to mind people. Same with the angel fish in the ocean...they chased me...hundreds of them! It was harmless and pretty funny. Don't feed the animals and they wont bother you. We saw a monkey also poking around for scraps.

Hi maroma brides! We just returned from our amazing wedding at secrets. I'll do a full review soon, but I just wanted to say we had a perfect wedding at secrets. Cecilia was excellent and pulled off the day exactly as we imagined. We had a beach wedding, beach cocktail hour, and the reception at the "pool terrace". I would not have changed a thing! The only call out I have about the resort is that the Mosquitos were fierce! Bring lots of bug spray and itch cream for you and your guests. We included them in our welcome bags and our guests were so grateful.

Hi SMB brides!  So happy to hear about your wonderful weddings.  Looking forward to the reviews.  It makes us even more excited for special day in May 2012.  We are in the process of looking for travel agents to help us negotiate the best room rates at SMB.  We are in the New York City area.  Do any NYC area SMB brides have travel agencies you can recommend?  Thanks!

Hi AnnieWeds! I'm from the Michigan area so I can't help you with the travel agent. But my agent was able to get us $50 off each room booked that is from our wedding. Also, Secrets Maroma is doing a special right now, when you book 5 rooms you get the 6th room free. So be sure to ask your travel agent about it. It's on the Secrets website.

 

When in May are you getting married? We are getting married there May 12, 2012! I can't wait! Good luck planning everything!

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
