Thanks Lovelylady! This is great to know!  I was so nervous checking it in the suitcases, with the 'questionable items'  incase they had a problem with it and just tossed everything out, then we would have nothing!  So atleast now I know that we can atleast try the sand.  Do you think they will have a problem with the wedding cake topper?  It is handmade from real starfish and some seashells.  I was going to order a new ceramic kind today,  so I will wait a few more days and see if you have any suggestions.

I had my wedding planner here in the U.S. get intouch with the TSA about what can and cannot be brought onto a passenger plane (checked in of course).  But thier answer to her was; wheater or not it is on the "LIST" of items that can be brought (checked in), it is still under the direct discretion of the TSA agent at the airport as well as Mexican customs.  ugh! I cant win lol.  But thank you very much and I will be trying some of the items that I was just about to give up on completley  :)

WOW---- our wedding was exactly 7 weeks from the day before yesterday!!!!!  whoo-hoo!  finally!  We have been planning this for a year and 4 months so it felt unreachable ;)  Now it is actually getting here!  yayay!  cheer2.gif

Bella,

I had problems getting my deposit acknowledged!!  It took forever and they just werent in any hurry. But she always assured me that she would hold my day.  I just kept on her.  I cant imagine how many emails she gets a day.  So I try to be understanding that our sense of urgency isnt her sense or urgency.

Oh, I also contacted the woman whose name was on the deposit information as well.......I called and emailed her and she answered right away that she HAD received it and i then forwarded those emails onto Cecilia and that was super helpful.  Let me know if you need the contact's name.  PM me if you need it.

OK so, here's my lil dilema.

I have the simpliest wedding, only 8 ppl no frills or music or fancy dresses or decor........nothing!!

I went with the basic package!!  Nuttin extra.

I did get an outside photographer, we r getting married at 3pm, pics until 6pm......DO YOU KNOW, i cant have my wedding dinner until 9pm when everyone else is done eating........it was either 6:30 or 9pm were my two choices......

I AINT Happy bout that!!

What do you guys think?  what kind of reception time do you get??? (but then again, im not paying anything extra, its just a dinner with our cake and champagne, guess im not special enough)

Hi ladies!

I'm having my wedding at Secrets in less than 2 months!  Can't wait!! ^___^

Question...  do you know if the beach gets seaweed accumulated on it?  Secrets must clear the seaweed each day, but do you know when the seaweed is cleared, and when it accumulates again?  I'd like to take pictures on the beach and it'd be wonderful to get shots of the beach when it's pristine and white!

Thank you ladies!!  ^__^

I did alot of research concerning beaches in the Riveria Maya, because beach was super important to me cuz i am a beach person.  NO worries we are staying at one of the nicest beaches on the riveria maya, Secrets is known most for its white clear sands........the beach would be the least of my worries

BTW I leave in 38 days!! Im nervous to fly! Yikes.....clausterphobic...

Is anyone using a videographer? Have recs? I only want the ceremony filmed since it'll just be the 2 of us, so the pricing from Secrets Directly seems a little high.  I was hoping for maybe $500-600 tops since it will be under 30 minutes and shouldn't be much to edit.  Or maybe I should do their new webcast option?  It's a little cheaper and might appease our family members who aren't attending.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
