i hate to do this but here's the quote we got :

10 nights oceanview, 12/5 - 12/15, for $2005 per person. Swimout is $2045 per person. And jr. suite preferred club oceanview is $2225 per person. All of these categories also give you $200 in resort coupons to use at the spa or upgraded wine, etc. Plus $346 for airfare per person.

We're going with the preferred club because the wedding is free when you book a preferred club, and it's cheaper than booking a regular room and paying $800 for the wedding!!

Grand total: $5,202 (includes airfare, hotel for 10 nights, and transfers)

Thanks Saza175 for your info! You are going through with destinationweddings.com correct? I finally signed up and I am using them as well, and my specialist said that if the price goes down in the future before the travel date, they will be able to get the adjustment for the price. It is a little hard to believe but I specifically asked and she said yes. So, you can ask your wedding specialist about that as well, you have a lot of time till December so the price might get cheaper?

I am also doing the preferred room with the free wedding package. The upgrade only cost like $400, so it is a good deal:) Plus, it will be closer to the beach!

BTW, That's great you get to stay 10 days!!

I just wanted to say that my Fiancee and I visited Secrets Maroma back in August 2009. We stayed for 5 days just for a getaway....we fell in love with Secrets Maroma!! The water is just amazing. I usually like bigger waves like the ones in Cancun but the color was perfect and it was really peaceful. The food was amazing! The service was fantastic! You and your guests are going to have a great time. Please let me know if you guys want pictures and I'll send you a link of the pics we took while we were there.

We got engaged a month after leaving there and I kept thinking how awesome it would have been to have gotten engaged there!!!

Did everyone book one of the larger wedding packages for their wedding? We booked the basic wedding package (which was free since we booked a preferred club room) and we were thinking of just paying for a private dinner for us and our guests instead of booking the whole wedding package. We don't really need the cocktail hour. I was just wondering if anyone went this route as well and how it turned out for you.

Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
