If I had it to do all over again - I would buy a really nice CZ and put it in a nice setting. But I'm not into diamonds. They didn't really have nice CZs when I was married almost 11 years ago. I am just not into diamonds. If you are not either - definitely go with CZ - you can always upgrade later if you want.

Another low-cost option would be a ring that isn't a diamond. When I was at Kays a couple weeks ago, they had a ring that I would have *loved* to have as my E-ring---- it was a sea magic white pearl surrounded by diamonds in a WG band. Absolutely stunning! It was on sale for 50% off and had I seen that ring before we bought my E-ring, it would have saved us about $3K to get it instead.

If you already have your E-ring, you could always use that as your wedding band also. There's no rule saying you have to have 2 separate rings....

Yeah, I really don't know/care about diamonds. My engagement ring is actually blue topaz with tiny diamonds. It is really contempory and that color blue is my favorite color. I was going to switch it to my right hand since my wedding band wont match (doesn't matter either). I figure why spend so much on something I don't know much about or appreciate yet. I like the idea of getting my ring for an anniversary!

I got engaged last may and until recently I never wore my e-ring. I had two scares already where I "lost" it. Now I have gotten used to it and wear it all the time. When I go out and I know I'm going to drink and may end up tipsie, (hey I am marrying an Irish guy stop judging! LOL.) I wear a fake one. My friend who is a jeweler is always telling me how really good cubics look so much better than diamonds, they don't ever become dull and they always shine like crazy. I love fake ones I think they are so fun! And if you lose it you don't have to feel devestated. I am not bringing my ring to Mexico, I would have 50,000 anxiety attacks and would not enjoy my time there b/c I would panick that I would lose it or that it would get stolen. I say get the fake and this way you get something exciting to celebrate when you are able to afford it.

I love Blue Topaz's! They are so pretty!!

I know I'm a little late on this thread but I say go for the fake. People can't tell the difference and the only difference is the price tag. if you can live with a fake... DO IT!!! I told Jared long time ago just to get me a CZ... but he was really against the idea. I tried to explain t him tht i didn't care - but I guess he cared. Isn't that weird? I wanted the fake and he didn't! LOL So he ended up getting me a real diamond very simple and I love it. Im always staring at it and making it sparkle. I really dont see the diff or what the big deal is whether its fake or not.

i can't add anything that the other girls haven't already said - go for the fake, it's what's between you two that count. maybe someday it can be a special present you decide to get!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
